I failed the mcdonald's application test
There was no math on there (which i would've passed having taken probability and statistics, calculus and algebra 1&2 as well as trigonometry) which i think is crap but then again i guess that explains why getting accurate change is always a hassle. It was a personality test. I'm guessing theres a green score a yellow score and a red score. Green means your hired yellow means its a judgement call and red means you're about 1 overtime away from going postal on everyone around you.
I of course scored as a red because i'm honest about myself and i'm not gonna lie to people about what i'm really like (probably why i can't get hired anywhere). Somebody there came out to me and said you scored as a red meaning that you would not like working here and this is not the job for you. I felt compelled to ask "Who really enjoys working here for a living?" but i just walked out without making an incident.
The questions were like "What do you do if your co-worker, jim, is in a bad mood over in the corner?" I wanted to answer as long as jim's doing his job wtf does it matter what kinda mood he's in but i settled for the option that said leave him alone. Another one was you hear two co-workers complaining about how slow another one works what do you do. There was tell the manager and all that but i selected do nothing. People talk shit on people all the time whether they are doing a good job or not and i'm not gonna go running to tell the manager everytime somebody has a complaint about somebody else because thats kids stuff.
Re: I failed the mcdonald's application test
Oh well i'm gonna apply to see if i can become a bouncer in a strip club. You get to beat up drunk people with little to no legal repercussion and you're surrounded by naked easy women. I really don't see a downside to it.
Its slowly dawning on me just how sad it is that im unqualified to work at mcdonald's. There's even a clause in the application form that says they hire convicted felon's if they've been out of prison for atleast a year or something like that. It kinda depressing really.

Let me know how this works out for you. I have been retired for 3+ yrs and could probably use a job. Since I never get any hits on my resume on Monster.com this looks like something I'd be interested in.]

I hear Burger Kings hiring. :D
Re: I failed the mcdonald's application test
It sounds like things worked out for the best, Pun.
I have a feeling that the first unhappy customer would have a cheeseburger shoved up his or her nose. Or the first keystroke error would find the register sailing out the drivethru window. ;D

I failed one for B&Q :o, honesty gets you nowhere. It's a shame but you have to bullshit to get anywhere in life at times. These shitty application tests filter out people like you and me and let the "yes sir, no sir three bags full sir" robot-like people who would not say "boo" to a goose in.
Re: I failed the mcdonald's application test
I worked at McDonalds as an undergrad student and let me tell you it is a sucky, sucky place to work.
I'd totally agree with your answers but the fact that they want you to say you're going to bug the crap out of your workmates is really all the explanation needed as to why it's such a s**t place to work.
You'll be better off elsewhere - somewhere they appreciate the idea of being hospitable to each other.
Sure there are probably worse jobs around but I wouldn't take their rejection as a sign you can't do better than that.

Thats just it. A few friends of mine said i should've lied but i told them it would of been inevitable that they found out how impatient i really am. I've always felt i was above working in fast food and now i find out i'm not even qualified, it kinda puts a hurting on ones ego. I haven't felt this shitty for alittle over 15 months (which was an ongoing record from since i turned 11).

Re: I failed the mcdonald's application test
I failed the marks and spencer's one for the same reason... they asked me what I would do if I was in the pub and someone started to say bad things about M and S etc...
I failed that one... It's not as if M and S is say... the fire service or something is it?...

The McDonalds corperation says you do not qualify, however, the rest of the free world says you are overqualified.
I've been in several interviews in my life where I knew I wasn't getting the job before he did.
Questions like, "Why do you want to work here?" or "Do you consider yourself a hard worker?" always do me in. My answers were always, "I want to work here because I need money to live and you need workers to work." and I consider myself an average worker. I hate working but I do what it asked of me so long as I am getting paid."
I knew they did not what to hear the truth, but damned if I was going to squirm and make up lies just to get some shirt-and-tie jerk to take me on.

Seriously. I'm not above lying to get certain jobs but lying to get a fast food job is just not in me. I answered that i was average on things too. I'm not gonna put down "I'm the best worker you'll ever meet" because if that was true, i wouldn't be applying for this dead end shit job. >:mad
I could've had a $300 a week job but the guy my mom married doesn't have enough pull in the world and they never even gave me a shot. Meanwhile they hired several people who they had to fire on the spot because they came in drunk or just plain quit mid shift.
