Baldomir vs Forrest ? :(
If we take any more of this, HBO will keep doing these Boring *ss After Dark matchups.
B.A.D. was about showing the next breed of boxers in competitve real fights, fighters who deserve the money and attention HBO can give.
I'm totally in for an online petition. HBO MUST KNOW!!! I'm a boxing fan and what the hell is HBO's problem with making competitive matchups for the unknowns and prospects. Boxing is for the boxers and the FANS!

Heh, I would be with ya, but they havent been that bad, really? This one may turn out to be good, give it a chance.
Take a look at the fights scheduled for that saturday. Its by far the best fight going on. Do they set up the fights or buy the rights to the events?
Why is that a bad matchup? two former world champs with different styles fighting isnt a bad matchup. Unless its Toney-Rahman or something like that.
Not the greatest matchup in the world , but in my honest opinion it could be worse.

When HBO could easily do their homework and find young new talent and show it to the public. The BAD matchups have been very good lately, very good. In fact, outside of that Stevie Johnston - Vivian Harris card, I really can't think of one I didn't care much for. They've been good and this matchup has to be televised somewhere...
Your logic is hypocritical in my opinion. On the one hand you are arguing that HBO has an obligation to up and coming fighters, to showcase their talents and to help promote them, yet on the other you seem to think that a fighter who has risen to the very top and made the p4p rankings (Forrest) or who has been an undisputed world champ as recently as one fight ago (Baldimor) should just be discarded because they are rubbish and nobody cares about them any more ???Quote:

Personally you may not like this matchup, but plenty of others do. Personally I'm excited to see which one of these will go on for one last hurahh. Forrest has only ever lost to one fighter in his entire career and Baldomir is the kind of hard working good honest grafter that most fans would not begrudge him time in the limelight.
As for HBO's obligation to up and coming fighters, well Sho Box and ESPN Friday and Wednesday night fights are doing pretty well in that regard. HBO's duty is to cover boxing and provide us with a range of fighters.
I believe this fight is for the vacant light middleweight title so the result is obviously significant as whoever wins will be world champion. Personally I think HBO's duty is to cover championship fights more than anything, as every world title fight should be televised, don't you think?
Sorry, but people should never complain about boxing being on TV. If Ruiz was on against Vinnie Maddalone, you bet your sorry ass I'll be watching it.
Both Forrest and the big Baldoski are former world champions, and if a young fighter defeated one for the title, it'd be a great way to propell them into the big time with not only a green belt, but also a name on their record. The fight will also be a way to add to their own legacies. I hope Baldo wins big.
