Help please.RE:Protein Shakes
I'm looking to add some weight to my frame and eat 5-6 small meals a day,the only problem is,I don't get enough protein in those meals or on days where I cannot have that mount of meals I miss out on protein.
1>)So I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a protein shake?
2.)Also,which are the worst/ones you've had bad experience with?
3.*)Also,is it common for boxers have protein shakes and are there any side effects?
I'm not looking to spend OTT amounts of $$$ on the shake but I'll consider all recommendations.
CC for any responses.

It is a whey protein shake,it is effective, and it doesnt taste like crud
Re: Help please.RE:Protein Shakes
I take MetRx with Metomyasyn (sp.?) It's protein shake, I only add water to it, no milk or anything.
I've also been taking creatine in the mornings, can't tell if it's made a difference or not though.
The vanilla and chocolate taste good, it's low in sugar. It's a whey protein blend. It has like 37 grams of protein per serving.
How much protein are you taking in a day and how much do you weigh?
Re: Help please.RE:Protein Shakes
I know I'm supposed to be taking 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight right? Some days I manage that, some I don't. I'm 5foot7,weight 150 pounds. Wow,KS,that shake sounds AWESOME,any side effects? Also, what happens if you stop taking it? CC's brothers. Any chance of a link KS?
Re: Help please.RE:Protein Shakes

The shake is making a MAJOR difference, not only in my ability to manipulate my weight, but just lifestyle.
Turns out I need to maintain a certain level of protein when Im working out, otherwise I develop a major hand tremor
Started taking the shakes,by by hand tremor

You will have a hard time getting 1.5 grams at your body weight, trust me, go for 0.8 - 1 grams if you're really trying to gain.

here is a link. There aren't really any side effects other than you may notice a shrinking of your wallet.
Make sure that when you are increasing your protein intake that you drink A LOT of water and space it
out through the day, because too much protein can reek havok on your kidneys and liver.
Re: Help please.RE:Protein Shakes
What do you think of the MET-RX Supreme Whey protein powder? Also, how many servings do you have in a day? Because it's DAM expensive!!! :o
Yo Trainer, have you have your shaking hand checked out? Are you sure it's not related to the shakes? How many grams of protein does a serving provide bro?

I only take the shakes after I do weights, twice a week and after my 12 round heavy bag season once a week.
What I would recommend is getting a store brand whey protein shake without added vitamins and stuff.
Get a powder get as bare bones protein as you can, that would be the cheapest most effective
way to get your protein. If you are eating 5 times a day I'd recommend going for around 24 grams
per feeding of natural protein (probably never be exact, but that's ok) eat some nuts, have slices
of lean meat as snacks you shouldn't rely strictly on your shakes for protein, try to limit it to one a day.
chicken
fish
lean cuts of meat
turkey
eggs and egg whites
milk
are all good sources of protein.
I personally am a vegetarian, so I eat morningstar farms Chik'n Strips (fake meat)
they are super healthy have 29 grams of protein per serving and are low in fat.
Be prepared to put in some work though, gaining weight is much harder than losing
weight (to do it healthy at least) If you are just looking to bulk up and not get
stronger for athletic reasons, you want to be doing REALLY heavy weights for low reps.

Killersheep has the best idea of making an adjustment to your diet but if you are like me I am never able to scheduale meals at the same time or able to prepare things they way I would like due to time here are a few suggestions I have seen work pretty well in the past...
By the way in a pinch a protien bar works as well...
VPX redline is a pretty good product and fairly priced ( pre made not powder)
Carb solutions is another decent priced one that taste good ( powder)
4 Ever fit is probably the cheapest and best priced and is a fairly good product at about 25$ for 2lb (powder)
also egg whites are great...If you have trouble getting them down a little trick i used to use is..put the egg whites in a blender add a cap full of Vinilla extract and while blending add a teaspoon of sugar..makes it into a shake type thing just drink fast before they start to collect back together or it is slimy egg again

Isn't VPX redline for weight loss? I think El Gamo is saying he's underweight and wants to bulk up............same goes for the 4 ever fit
there is a ton of caffeine in those things.
I do like the carb solutions one though, decent protein low carb and low sugar, how does it taste?

Maybe I misunderstood.....Thought he was just looking for different types of Protein drinks to use while working out...never gave thought on if he was bulking up or just looking for a way to get in protein in general while getting in shape...I read the 5-6 small meals a day and totally missed the adding weight part...CC for the adjustment.....
I just always seem to associate working out with cutting fat while keeping up with everything else
