Re: Resurrecting the Champ
I haven't seen it yet, but I've read some mixed reviews. How was the story? on the preview it says a "Based on a true story that is based on a lie." I'm still not sure if it is worth going to or not.

God damn what a film! It's pretty much a must see film i think for any real boxing fan, great for everyone to be honest... but a real boxing fan who truly follows the sport will really feel this film.
It has its twists and turns like any real good film, some you see coming, and the story does drift off boxing for a lil bit and cover the boxing scribe... +it makes out showtime is the best for boxing ::** hello HBO?
Sammy L is F****** awsome in this, he his role has got an Oscar written all over it... that guy who didn't wank for 40 days does alright too...
Defo amust film see fellas, you wont be sorry.
I totally disagree. It containsa many techical errors and strays way too far from the L A Times article upon which it is based. Moreover, to risk mixing up Bob Satterfield with Tommy Harrison , personality-wise, is unforgivable. I saw it and hated it fior its lack of truth and reserach. As for Jackson, by his own admission, he did not study any boxers...let alone ones suffering from Pugislitica Dementia. I thought he came across as a freak. I know this is harsh, but when Hollywood idiots set out to do a boxing film without proper researrch or consultation, the result is less than seamless. In this case, its pure crap. Yeah, Tommy was a damn good fighter and once beat the great Jimmy Bivins, but he also has tremendous issues as a man that should have been aired.
Re: Resurrecting the Champ
Please excuse my typos in that last post.
Re: Resurrecting the Champ
I should watch that movie.

Don't waste your money. >:mad >:mad But then, judge fir yourself. But before anyone sees the movie, they should read JR Moehrhinger's (spelling) award winning article from the L A Times so you can see how the Producers f---- it up. I knew Bob Satterfield when I was a kid and any thing that can subject his great reputation as a man to misintrpretation is a damn shame.
Re: Resurrecting the Champ
I have a couple of movie passes that I got from work. I can walk out anytime I want if it bore the sh*t out of me and use the other pass to see the transformers or somethin.

The movie will probably hold your interest. It's probably an interesting film. My points are that the facts have been totally messed up and that's what got me pissed off.
Re: Resurrecting the Champ
But I promise I won't disclose the ending....heh heh ;D ;D
Re: Resurrecting the Champ
Good flim watched it the other night, did not know the true story so i thought it was good.
I liked the twists and turns and as some one else said you could not see some of them coming.
Marks out of 10 i would go for an 8 ;D ;D

That's my point. If you knew the story, the movie would come across as bogus. albeit interesting.
