Holyfield vs. Ibragimov is just around the corner............................
Fan favorite/most over-rated heavyweight of all time Evander Holyfield is going toe to toe with Sultan Ibragimov in less than a week.
Personally I really wanted to see Holyfield fight Wlad, but I'm confident that the Sultan shouldn't have any problems beating Evander back into obscurity.
I'm going with Sultan by 10th round TKO.
I can't wait :D

George Foreman was 40 something when he became HW champion a while back, so it hasn't really been that long.
I'm actually considering ordering this PPV depending on how much they're gonna charge for it and who is on the undercard.

Do you know anything about boxing at all? He's by far the most recognisable boxer in the world currently fighting, he's never been in obscurity and never will. ::**

There really are very few easy fights out there for Sam Peter....I would like to see how he'd do vs Andrew Golota....would he KO Golota early a la Lewis, Tyson, and Brewster or would he allow Golota to get comfortable and box Sam Peter. Golota is no slouch but there is a certain way to beat him it's tested and proven true every time.

He is just a hater don't bother.
Re: Holyfield vs. Ibragimov is just around the corner............................
Holyfield is going to win this one, if its close he wont get the nod. I really think this fight will push him to do something that not a lot of people have done before, win the title AGAIN!
Holyfield UD !

Many boxers are more recognizable than Evander Holyfield.
Oscar Delahoya (anywhere)
Roy Jones Jr. (anywhere)
Erik Morales (take Mexico into consideration ;))
Marco Antonio Barerra (see above ;))
and a slew of others.......
Perhaps at Bilbo's house, Evander Holyfield is the most recognizable fighter, but hardly anywhere else
Think of it this way..................
How many PPV buys do these latest Holyfield fights/circuses get compared to just about everybody else's??
As far as your obscurity comment.......
How many people were talking about your boy Holyfield a couple years ago compared to now??
Re: Holyfield vs. Ibragimov is just around the corner...........................
Not everyone knows who Roy Jones Jr. is. In fact if you are not a boxing fan, you never heard of him. Same with the rest of them on your more recognizable list.
Holyfield is known to everyone. You say the name to a non boxing fan and they will know he is a boxer. His being on Dancing with the Stars only cemented his name more in the public eye.
I would also not call him overrated. Sure he has seen better days, but their was a time when he could have beat anyone on a given day.

No thats cause you hate him, ::** Evander is still one of the most recognizeable fighters in the world only rivaled by Delahoya

De La Hoya isn't famous at all in the UK unless your a boxing or sports fan. Even grannies over here know who Holyfield is, the man who beat Tyson twice and got his ear bitten off. He'a legend over here.
Remember that for non boxing fans, especially women the heavyweight division and fighters like Tyson, Holyfield, Ali etc are the only fighters they will ever hear of.

Fan favorite = Holyfield
Most overrated heavyweight of all time = Sultan
Sultan couldn't even decision ray austin but he's gonna be able to beat holyfield? You need to get your mind checked.
Re: Holyfield vs. Ibragimov is just around the corner............................
Sultan beating Holyfield means nothing to me. Holyfield already made and has a legacy; he's old and I wish he'd retire. If Holyfield wins, great for him but it kind of shows how poor the heavies are, no disrespect at all towards Real Deal. One of the all time greats at heavy for sure. Go Holyfield!!
Re: Holyfield vs. Ibragimov is just around the corner............................
(I think Foreman was 45 when he beat Moorer; I'm not sure if Holyfield hits as hard as George Foreman though, who won it with a couple solid shots. If Holyfield's as smart as that, he has a legitimate chance, but the fight just doesn't interest me beyond whether or not an older guy can beat a younger guy.)
Re: Holyfield vs. Ibragimov is just around the corner............................
....Holyfield says he'll retire once he unifies so I guess it doesn't really matter how bad he gets beat up or even if he wins.
I will not watch another Evander Holyfield fight unless he's fighting Wladimir, Vitali or perhaps Andrew Golota (because I was always intrigued by that match up kind of like Holyfield-Morrison)
Evander needs to hang it up and I only hope Sultan whips his ass bad enough to where he decides to quit or Evander wins and hangs them up.
