Let's clear this 'ducking' issue of Pacquiao once and for all...
Had to stick out my neck on this one, which I usually don't, to defend my boy.
This early, there are guys already jumping the guns on pac for his supposed ducking. C'mon kids, can't you understand this whole noise coming from all directions is just a pre-selection or the pre-negotiation strategy. Everyone wants the piece of pac pie and they're all trying to psyche one another out to get the best deal...
Quoting the latest news from the Philboxing.com news, Pacquiao's camp clearly stated that, "In the end, it will be the 'dollars and cents' that will tip the scale in favor to chosen aspirant. 'We will discuss the purses and the fight that will make more money for Manny will be it,' Salud stressed." That should be clear enough.
And make no mistake about it folks, that's how it's been and that's how it'll be, no if's and but's. Those guys are getting their brain bashed mainly for money - and the glory? we'll just eat 'em.
If pac reject the best deal, purse-wise of course, I'll be the first one to holler 'duckeeeeeeer' (didn't sound right, huh?) and will shed off my fanboy jacket and give it to El Gamo and let him trample on it all he wants and I'll still give a CC for every minute he does that. Fair enough, heh.
Re: Let's clear this 'ducking' issue of Pacquiao once and for all...
No offence because you know your my bro,but you didn't really answer of the any questions or address any of the issues raised.
The biggest fight out there is a JMM fight.
JMM said he'd take a 57-43 cut. It's the best fight for Manny's legacy.
JMM said he would move up in weight.
IF A JMM COULD NOT BE MADE FOR ANY REASON,WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO FIGHT DAVID FRICKING DIAZ?!?!?! Who the HECK wants to see a David Diaz fight?!
Guzman,Valero,Juan Diaz are all more worthy. Fact is,JMM has given in to every demand so there shouldn't even be a mention of a David Diaz fight, especially as Manny has had a poor 2007 by his high standards. Even if the fight was fought in 2008 at a later date and not in March, the inactivity would be NO GOOD for JMM at his age and he fought, people would want to see him fight Guzman,a fight he could lose so we wouldn't get to the Pac JMM fight. So yeah,if Manny doesn't take the fight,I think it's safe to say he's ducking.
(You know I totally respect Manny,I think he's P4P top 3 and I think he's a super exciting fighter so you know I'm not "hating", I'm telling it like it is. If aany other fighters was doing this, everyone would jump on him,I'm not making any exceptions for Manny)
Re: Let's clear this 'ducking' issue of Pacquiao once and for all...
I'd be really disappointed if Pac fights anyone else but Marquez. If there's squabbling over percentage points, well - that's crazy. The JMM/Pac fight would outsell any other fight in that weight range - so you lose a few points on a MUCH larger pie, big deal? 70% of a smaller purse for fighting someone else is still losing money.
Enough with the posturing to get the biggest slice - there's plenty to go around!! GET IT ON ALREADY!!
Re: Let's clear this 'ducking' issue of Pacquiao once and for all...
pac ain't ducking nobody its not in any fino fighters genetics.
Re: Let's clear this 'ducking' issue of Pacquiao once and for all...
Its probably Pacs people that dont want the fight, but the fact remains that if Pac doesnt fight him, reguardless of the reason, he is ducking him and he will lose some respect imo.
Re: Let's clear this 'ducking' issue of Pacquiao once and for all...
Why is a fighter expected to fight the best guys everytime out? After a big fight a fighter should be allowed at least one fight against whoever they want. Barrera barely lost to Marquez and Pacquaio beat him soundly so IMO Pacquaio shouldn't feel that Marquez is his number 1 priority. I personally am tired of seeing the same fights happen over and over again, let him fight GUzman, the Diaz's, Katsidis

Relax, brodda, there's nothing to it. I'll even be joining you in the 'trampling' if pac is indeed a 'ducker.' ;D ;)
Re: Let's clear this 'ducking' issue of Pacquiao once and for all...
This is either the biggest pre-sale for a fight that I have ever seen...or it'll end up being one of the biggest sell outs that I have ever seen.
The drama for this fight is dated...but all HBO has to do is either replay the first bout or work out a 24/7 of these two prior to the bout...& it's absolutely a MUST!
Personally I feel that Marquez is the best of the division...outside of Guzman...who I totally believe in.
I'm just not a Pac-fan & it's nothing against Pac personally or nationalistically or any shit like that...I just don't really dig on him as a fighter. He's exciting...but his style just isn't in my tastes.
Now...as far as the bout goes...I believe that these are the antics of both Oscar & Arum working full steam ahead building up the battle.
Look at it from a promotion standpoint.
Pac wants to move up...but there's unfinished business with Marquez.
Marquez wants to finish it...maybe Pac doesn't...or as his fans seem to say...doesn't see the need.
Pac calls out Diaz.
Marquez calls out Pac.
Pac turns down Marquez.
Marquez says Pac is running & he'll do whatever it takes to make the fight.
Now here we all are dangling by a thread with our nuts in a vice waiting on an answer.
The fight has pretty much just sold it's self...now...if you were Arum or Oscar...WTF would you do?
You'd keep dangling fans & drag that shit out till the end of the year & either make an announcement @ Christmas or the New Years & you'd sell this fight like crack on a street corner...& you'd have to re-up before you could even come up with some WACK-ASSED title.

What does that make Bumtista if a coward knocked him out?

Maybe. But only one walked out the ring under his own power. With out any assistance.

ponce was the better man that night, he did what he suppose to do and that was NOT to let rey get off and confident. Whats wrong with that fight happening? I'm sure you enjoyed it, and why should rey duck ponce? it was power vs power with skills, that night the one with just power got off first unfortunetly for rey.Pretty classic to me. I can see rey and ponce having a longer rivalry in the future. I wouldn't rule out a rematch in a few years from now. Its just a matter of how rey recovers from a sudden stroke like that in the ring ;D
