Hatton mistakes v PBF

First of congrats to PBF for winning the fight and Hatton for giving it his all.
Hatton had been wanting to fight Floyd for at least a couple of years which makes me think he must have had a game plan worked out. However as we saw yesterday it did not work. So what mistakes did Hatton make in the lead up to the fight and also in the fight itself. A few for me are as follows:

1) Strength
Listening to the Hatton camp they were convinced that through all the weights they were lifting that he would be too strong for PBF. This proved not to be the case and in the post fight interview he more or less admitted that he struggled with the strength of a small welterweight never mind a big one. This suggests to me the Hatton camp got it completely wrong and underestimated what PBF brung to the table strength wise. For me PBF has been putting on muscle to step up from 9,4 to 10,7. This suggests to me that PBF is pretty strong himself.

2) Tactics
Were was the plan B? When Hatton began to tire it was just a matter of time before Floyd started catching him with clean, regular heavy shots. Would this have been the time for Hatton to have had a plan be and try something else.
Was plan A executed incorrectly? As has been pointed out, where was the jab to set up the attacks (not including the first round), where was the head movement?, were where the angles? Was it Floyd that made it difficult for Hatton to do this?

3) Emotions
PBF taunted Hatton in the build up to the point where I think he wanted to kill Floyd b4 they even stepped into the ring. This caused Hatton to be a bit gun ho as he put it himself. He was not helped by the points deduction.

I could think of more but I would be interested in hearing peoples views.

Hatton biggest mistake was that stupid comment after the Castillo fight. Mayweather pretty much took the fight just to teach him a lesson. And teach him a lesson he did.

How was it a mistake if it got the desired response?

Not jabbing, getting to close when he did get close, no body shots, to wound up. None of these things helped but Hatton had very little chance of winning the fight to begin with.

If the desired result was a brutal knock out loss, than your right it was not a mistake

Of course it wasnt a mistake, he wanted the fight. The comments he made got him the fight, Surely even you can see that VD?

We agree Im right though, thats the main thing.

It was a mistake to even take this fight with Floyd, that was the biggest mistake; monetary considerations aside. He had one fight at 147 and didn't look too hot, then went back down to 140, then came back up to fight the best p4p fighter in the world? That was his mistake; plus all the ones he made last night like getting punched one too many times in the face.

To be honest, I think it's kind of a waste of time to look at Hatton's mistakes. If he fights Floyd 10 times, he'd lose 10 times out of 10. Even if Hatton fought at his 100% best he'd still lose handily.

Alright you right Hatton wanted the fight (and the brutal knock out loss that went with it). And he got it

Ain't that the truth. Hatton if he wanted to go 147; should have rematched Collazo at the least and seen how he did when "better conditioned" for the fight. Then maybe got another big name before trying to step in with Floyd. But like you said, 10 out of 10 times he would have failed. End of...

I think he fought his first Elite YOUNG before anyone mentions Kostya Fighter and got found out.

I think thats a bit unfair, yes he got found out but he got found out against the best fighter on the planet, 'elite' just doesnt do Mayweather justice, he's better than that ;)

He beat 43 guys before Floyd and gave Mayweather lots of trouble.

Hatton didn't turn to open up on the body and he stopped moving his head and he got tired

yeah are we forgetting that floyd was looking quite worried in the first two rounds and he even said something about it in his corner. props to floyd for winning but hatton gave him a rough time in the first few rounds.
