What a C.O.S Witter deserves better than Hatton scraps >:mad Witter needs some serious promotion.
Mind you, maybe a fight in the U.S against Castillo, COULD be regarded simply as promotion ???

witter should fight Ree's, a win there and another belt would force a fight with Hatton a hell of a lot more with 2 belts on the line.
Witter could actually come unstuck here.
I know Castillo had the tools. But you think he still has them?
Paulie will not fight Witter as he will hope to lure Hatton to the ring. Also he may get sued by Lovemore Ndou if he does not fight him next. Torres is fighting in Feb and Hatton will be taking a tune up against someone. Rees is fighting in Cardiff soon for his mandatory. Not many bigger names at 140 for Witter to fight. He may as well fight him and beat him in style. Should raise his profile a bit. He can then rematch Kotelnik when he beats Rees or go for Torres after that. I do not see Witter fighting Hatton until 2009 so he may as well focus on raising his profile or getting another belt.
I think Castillo has faded pretty fast since the second Corrales fight. The jumps in weight prove that, he no longer has the motivation to fight for legacy......just money. Because he has to. Shame really, he has had some amazing fights and should be retiring a rich man. I feel sorry for the guy.Quote:

Is Castillo on peanuts these days?
I can see Castillo quitting on his stool after being totally frustrated for 9 rounds.
Castillo is skint apparentlyQuote:

He got something silly like 40 grand (Dollars) for fighting Hatton after he paid all of his fines etc for not making weight against Coralles the 3rd time.
Feel bad for the guy..It's a shame that a great former world champion who has had over 70 bouts is broke.
Did he not get many big paydays then? Is he one of the fighters who just squandered all of his money?
Poor JLC, having to fight just to pay off his debt. :(
Wish him well and hope he figures something out.
YeaH,same here bro. I hope he does well.I don't think we are ever going to see the monster JLC from his prime anymore. The motivation will probably be gone. As for Witter taking this fight, sure it's Ricky's scraps BUT,JLC is a name in America, oneof the bigger names at 140,so if Witter can fight him and look good,he can gain some exposure.Quote:

Poor JLC...but whoever said it is right Witter shouldn't be taking Hatton's left overs. He deserves his shot at Hatton..Maybe if it comes off and Witter can win impressively we might see it happen still.
Any developments? Did he take the fight?
