Need some Movie Help!!

I've got 6 weeks annual leave coming up from work, and i'm hoping to go away for a week or 2... But even with a small holiday, it'll still be finding myself hanging around home for a month and I know i'm going to be frequenting the video shop regularly to ease boredom... I've been looking on Rottentomatoes.com to try to find some high rated movies and such, but it's a pretty difficult search..

I hate trying to pick random movies at the video store that I havn't seen as either I don't end up watching them, or I do end up watching them and they are crap..

So I need some help -

What movies have you seen lately that are out on DVD that you would recommend watching.. They can be anything from New Releases to classics, just anything that can provide a couple of hours entertainment during long boring days at home, and movies you thought were cool...

Definate reps on the way for anyone that offers a couple of suggestions..

Fantasic 4 - Rise of the Silver Surfer ( Effects are ok, but could have been better)

Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End ( Good effects and a few twists at the end)

The One ... With Jet Li

Willow

What type of moves do you like?

Shoot em Up (daft but pure entertainment for 80 mins)

The Nines - With Ryan Reynolds is pretty cool definately weird though.
Eastern Promises - Was really good
The Amateurs - I thought is was pretty funny
American Gangster - I think its an instant classic

American Gangster with Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington, was just released on dvd here in the states, so not sure if you have it there yet, but it's a great movie.

I'm sure you've probably seen it, but if not, 300 is a great movie.

I see you have a Snatch avatar, if you haven't seen Guy Ritchie's first flick, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, you should check that out.

3:10 To Yuma with Russell Crowe & Christian Bale

Eastern Promises with Viggo Mortensen & Naomi Watts. Viggo plays a Russian Mafia Hitman, and he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor for this role.

I see you recommended 3:10 to Yuma that was movie was really good also. Not mention the Russel Crowes characher "Ben Wade" is actually my name lol, I thought that was funny when I was watching it I like not crap that guy has the same name as me lol.

Seriousley I liked that movie but everyone else does'nt, even people from where I live :D

Maybe its just because I like planes and snakes a lot ;D

I just purchased "30 Days Of Nights", it's a good shit.

I can't wait to get a copy of "I Am Legend", that's another good shit too.

It depends on what kinds of movies you like as well as what actors and actresses or directors.


Anything by Kubrick other than Eyes Wide Shut (Tom Cruise has ruined EVERYTHING).

That list includes: The Shining, 2001 Space Odessy, Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket.
