Hey, I called it... Manfredo to move to 160
“I’d like to go back down to 160 (pounds) because I feel I’m too small fighting some of these guys.
It’s not that I can’t fight at super middleweight, but I want to be the best I can, and I think that’s at middleweight. I only plan on boxing until I’m 30, so I have three years left to make one last run at aworld title. Let’s see how I do against guys my size. I’m not sure when I’ll be fighting at 160. I’m thinking maybe my next fight will be at 165. Benfield’s a big guy who fought as a cruiserweight.”
Since graduating from his role in The Contender I, Manfredo’s fought in Wales, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, but he enjoys fighting at home. “It’s the best,” Peter said about fighting in Rhode Island. “There’s no place like home. It’s all about being comfortable in your surroundings. At home, I have my family and friends, sleep in my own bed, eat food I like…..everything is comfortable.

Who'd have thunk it?...Pride made a correct prediction. The world is a crazy place at times. ;D
Re: Hey, I called it... Manfredo to move to 160
The best he can be is south of that again!
I have no idea why he ever decided to go to Super Middle.

Thats for sure! Man I couldn't believe it to be honest, but I do suppose he made more money than many fighters so it wasn't completely nosensical.
A logical move not a noble move.

Peter would actually be at his best at 154 too. He would gain a good degree of speed and would have a big advantage in terms of power.
Who knows though at 160, he may still get some fights with guys like Tito and Duddy.

If he's not targetting Duddy for a fight at the garden he'd be an idiot... 2 money makes... Duddy fans want to see him batter Peter and Manfredo fans want to see peter box his ears off!

Peter has been handed a ticket which means he can easily make good money fighting anyone with a reasonable name, double that with Dudy's name and I think they'd sell it out as a main event.
I agree if he's not looking for it he's silly.
But Duddy may need him just as much as Manfredo might want him after Duddy fails in a title bid.
Re: Hey, I called it... Manfredo to move to 160
Duddy definately needs this fight more. I can't image the two sides haven't talked about it. It might not happen this year, but it will happen. I think Manfredo moving down is the first step towards making this happen.

I don't know that Duddy needs it more, If he fights anybody over hear he'll sell out a venue and get a hundred thousand viewers on TV. Thats a lot of money.

Actually Mike is called Frank Warren offering you alot of money , to fight an established world champion , as a no risk fight and lets cheat the paying public for a change.
Once again we are in your debt Mr Warren.( and thankyou WBO also )another test for your champions.
Manfredo has limited power and ability so he should fight at the lowest weight he can .

So Peter is tipping his hand right there. Take him out of his comfort zone and you have a definite edge over him. And why retire at 30? He already has the face of a 50 year old with all the shots he's taken.
