Something has to be done !!!!!

Something has to be done about Promoter Ahmet Oner, from Arena in Germany he is getting away with murder and is bringing the sport down.

He mainly came to notice the other week during the Danny Williams v Konstantin Airich, his performance only marginally overshadowed by the worst referee I have ever seen.

He -

1. Was in the corner every round despite not being listed as a second
2. Rang the bell half way through a round when his fighter was on the verge of being stopped
3. Took the towel from the seconds hand and threw it in the ring to end the fight.

Tonight once again he was up to his tricks again in the fight between Samil Sam and Vidoz, he again was in the corner every round shouting through the ropes or standing in the corner issuing orders. :confused:

Then before the scores had been announced he was down checking the judges scorecards, then after obviously disagreeing with them he had a stand up argument with a certain judge, slamming his fist on the desk and pointing at the judges card and arguing about the scoring of certain rounds. The arguments continued and were heated enough for both fighters to know the score before it was announced.:mad:

He seems to be a law to his own and thinks he can get away with what he wants, the authorities have to do something he is getting worse with every show.

I know nothing of him, but he does sound like he might be a candidate for a trial run at Lithium. Manic swings can be rough on those around ya.

The ringing the bell thing in the middle of a round is just demented, how can you possibly get away with that ANYWHERE? Shocking stuff, he sounds like he should be banned from all involvement in boxing.

It's the German comission who needs to tighten up their balls.

It's no wonder why certain fighters don't like to leave their homelands... :(

Yes I heard of him for the first time after the Williams debacle. Still have yet to see that fight unfortunately hopefully it pops up on Youtube as every attempt to download has been thwarted by the thought that "Is Danny Williams really worth slowing down your internet for a couple hours?"

Answer has been no everytime. Saw his apology, "I am sorry, I am Turkish not German, the ref sucked, the time keeper sucked, again I'm Turkish not German, very fair man I am as I am Turkish and not German"

That was about it. If he grabbed the scorecards before the ref did then something really isn't right there. Maybe he is in fact German afterall ??? ;D

German promoters are great though. The judges...not so much. But the shows they put on in Germany are top notch I love watching them. Very cool events would love to go to a German fight one of these days, crowds are great and the whole thing is a spectacle. Like a concert almost. The Sylvester-Castillejo fight was great to watch because of the good fight and the great atmosphere.

You have to differentiate between the german boxing stables...The most shit happens at Sauerland events...The last time something shoddy happened at Universum Box Promotion(which is btw the biggest boxingstable in europe...)was during the Krasniqi/Brewster fight and that was 3 years ago...Its not like these things doesn't happen in the US or Britain or anywhere else...Now sadly with Arena Promotions(Oehners stabel...)there is another bad apple,but Oehner promotes fights in the US, in Germany, in Spain, in Turkey and I don't know where...he just happened to found his stable in Germany,I doubt that he would behave differently if he had founded it in e.g. the US...

Oner is the owner of Arena? So he promotes Gamboa, Solis and all them then right? I had no idea. That seems odd that he would be in the corner of Sinal Sam but not cause any sort of fuss with his prized guy Gamboa.

Also, Williams-Airich was in Spain, while Sam-Vidoz was in Turkey.

I don't know if there has been any controversies at Oehner's Germany-staged cards? Johnny?

This guy is scum.

then everyone involved needs to complain to the relevant commission and other managers/boxers should refuse to fight on his bills.
