So what should Haye do now?
I looked at the Toney-Rahman fight as an eliminator to see who would fight Haye in the fall.
After last night, we really don't have a true winner. So who should Haye fight, Rahman or Toney?
And say the commission steps in and orders a 3rd fight between Toney and Rahman.... who should Haye look at as a replacement opponent for his fight this fall?
Re: So what should Haye do now?
Haye should go forward and become the undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World and bring the belts back to London:cool:
And he will;)
Re: So what should Haye do now?
I thought Maskaev had become fav to face Haye?
I just saw Haye say in an interview he'll be fighting Oct/Nov (as we know) and then again in February.. for what it is worth
Re: So what should Haye do now?
Try and get Toney and become the first guy to stop him.
If not i guess Maskaev is as good as anyone else.

I think Toney would be a mistake at this moment in time.

Looking at the 3rds last night i think Haye would destroy him too much speed.

You could be right, he's also the naturally bigger man. He should also be much stronger than James but Toney's craftyness and ability to roll with shots and counter could prove disasterous. Of course this is all speculation.
Re: So what should Haye do now?
really...
i cant understand this whole david haye thing
whats going on involves far more delusion then people thinking hatton would KO mayweather
david haye seriously needs to STFU
and i hope when he finally takes a fight and gets KOd everyone will just ignore him

Haye is just the type of fighter that would fight anyone, which is very refreshing. All of his fights have lead to something he doesnt do crappy intrim or mandatorys he just sets new goals for himself.
Which is great, power, speed, looks, mouth Haye is just what the HW division needs.

Agreed!
Re: So what should Haye do now?
Thing is Sal without even starting his campaign he's got us all talking loads about the Heavyweight division which is something i couldn't give the time of day to since Lennox fought Vitali;)
Like him or not he is bringing the Heavyweight division back into the public eye.
And with power like Hayes only a fool would dismiss him as having no chance.
Have you seen what he did to Bonin at Heavy?
He destroyed a man with a decent record and nearly took his head off with a jab prior to the thumping KO he dished out.
Haye is a big force and looks competent up at Heavy, yeah he's chinny but that just adds to the excitement for me and if he fails in his dream at least he'll entertain us along the way,NEVER swerve a challenge and give it 100%.
Name me some Heavies at present who you can say that about?;)
Re: So what should Haye do now?
I wouldnt mind seeing a Haye:Toney fight as a playoff into a title shot.
I think Toney could take Haye out in the deep rounds. Be fun to watch as an old Toney gradually unwinds Haye.

And I agree with you and I been on the Haye bandwagon since Smash was toting him a year and a half ago, but I think a fight with Toney would not be wise at the moment... Toney style is impossible to look good against, there is no way in hell and I'll repeat this no way in hell Haye will Knock Toney out. James is the Hardest grizzeled fighter of this generation.. Haye would do well to avoid him if he could, James has to much experience and even though Haye is strong and athletic, at this point in his career is no match for Toneys smarts and skill.. Like Miles said Toney would break him down late in the fight
Re: So what should Haye do now?
I don't have a good opinion of who...but haye simply just needs to get in the ring and market a klitchko fight with his hands instead of trying to do it with his mouth . Haye outside of the ring has bugged me but inside it i like to watch him. Beat the crap out of a couple of these other HW guys or at least try to. The fights he wants will eventually come. Right now the stalking will get haye a fight with klitchko just as well as witter did getting a shot a hatton.
Re: So what should Haye do now?
I don't see how someone can talk so much shit in the heavyweight division.Without fighting anyone of legitimacy.I mean he lost to an older veteran in Carl Thompson. Haye has decent pop in the CRUISERWEIGHT Division.I am very interested when he lands one of those Haymaker's on a true heavyweight's chin.If Toney or Rahman come in good shape I believe they will take care of this cruiserweight.
