Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
I can say with a clean conscience that DLH is a damn bully if he fights Pac. Pac fans, this is not a knock on him and he is one of my fave fighters at the moment but the size and weight difference is not a fair one.
Las I heard they offered Pac 10 mil for the fight which tells me they're serious about taking it. At first I thought it was just talk. I can recall DLH saying at one point how he wanted to fight him because he was beating all theses great mexican fighters but those guys are in or around his weight class.
I have criticized DLH in the past because of the way he goes about choosing opponents and I heard a million stories in his defence.
How can anyone defend this if it happens?

one word MONEY. Oscar isn't stupid a bully at this point maybe.Look at it this way.His fight with Mayweather gone,Cotto and Margarito I don't think he wants to face any right now.Trinidad doesn't seem interested in taking a fight with him.Winky now has a fight set-up with whomever. So who left is left. Why not a smaller guy and a guy who can bring in millions.
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
The weight issued is nullified by Oscar losing most of his recent fights . He is clearly past his best but Pac is in his prime . Plus Oscar will have to kill himself to make 147 . Pac wont so I dont see it as a huge unfair advantage .
Oscar was at a disadvantage when he moved up from superfeather to fight Hopkins at middleweight . Difference was Hopkins was a long reigning champion and top p4p fighter . Oscar as I say is a business man these days and not a boxer at his peak .
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
If pac can take ODLH punch then Oscar is in trouble. You'll have a fighter who is quicker and cound outwork the goldenboy: that is if Pac can take his punch.

. . . .or avoid his punch . Forbes did a good job and riding shots and he is a smaller guy too . Pacs speed should help him early and if he survives the 1st few rounds then the real fight gets started and his workrate comes into play
De La Hoya doesnt want his old stamina problems coming back to haunt him. I f he does end it early I see him doing it with a body shot and Pac folding like he did vs Singursat .

I agree with you completely here. My problem is that I'm worried Pac could get seriously hurt in there.
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
De La Hoya deserves a Winky or Pavlik fight.
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
It has become obvious that DLH is looking to create a monopoly of sorts in boxing...The doing as he feels fit for his own sense of ego rather then the good of the entire landscape of the sport......
In my honest opinion I think DLH in the long run will do more to hurt boxing then help it....

DLH may have fought the best comp he could at one time but he is not an idiot...He is in no way shape or forum looking to step in the ring with Kelly Pavlik....I would like to see him man up and fight Winky...A fighter he should have faced long ago

Pac has unbelievable instincts and reflexes but he often has to reach and take big chances to land. Against a much bigger guy like DLH, that can be really bad.
Oscar has lost alot of his attributes but his power remains. He has never been hit like he would be hit by Oscar and that is a scary thing to think about.
Point being, I don't think he can take his punch.
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
Death to the Mexicutioner...haha just kidding Pac would have a better chance than the weight differance would suggest. Pound for pound Oscar doesnt punch as heavy as some of the fighters that Pac has faced in the lighter weights, namely MAB and El Terrible. I think both of those guys hit harder than Oscar in their respective weight classes, and by going up in weight Manny will be able to absorb the punches better as well.

This is true, however I feel it necessary to point out that as with Steve Forbes, as long as PAC doesn't retain permanent damage he is in a WIN-WIN situation here. If he wins it would be an upset and his money making potential is still there. If he loses he's fighting a guy twice his size and I really don't think anyone will hold it against him and his money making potential is still there.
I do agree however that ODLH fighting anyone at note at this point is just taking away from the scheme of things in boxing every match he makes is one less of fights that have current meaning.

Exactly! It is like some side show fight in another sport. I usually don't dislike fighters that much, but I think ODLH actually deserves a humiliating and discgraceful defeat for all his bullshit the past 3 years or so.
