Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
Well we all know the Valuev fight was a horrible horrible robbery, and appalling decision that seems to have been rigged.
So let's talk conspiracy here.
I'm not very clued up on boxing politics so if it was fixed who would have fixed it and why?
I mean I can't see that Valuev is a cash cow for either his promoter or the WBC or whatever belt it was tonight.
Would they risk the integrity of boxing for the sake of that plodding, boring, useless meat head?
I mean if 'they' did fix it, who are they?
Is it Valuev's team, his manager and promoter paying the judges off?
Is it whatever organisation whose belt was on the line tonight, wanting Valuev to win for reasons......well completely unknown to me
Was it the bookies? Were they worried about losing money on an Evander win? If so though why would they fix the fight, why not just lower his odds?
Do you think the bookies wanted to make a killing on punters backing Evander and that it was worth them paying the judges to make sure Valuev got the nod if it went to the judges?
If such an event was fixed would they buy all the judges off or just two of them?
Would the judges know who bought them off or is there a middleman or go between?
As you can tell I really have no clue how fixing works in boxing, so those in the know, enlighten me, what happens and who does it?

Re: Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
If it was fixed, the WBA would have to be involved and their is only one reason.....Valuev would make more money/draw more attention in future fights. IMHO

Re: Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
Valuev won every round IMO, this was no fix guys
Please give Valuev some credit, he dominated Evander

Re: Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
I dont think the judges were instructed to give teh rounds to Valuev but they knew it were in their best interests if the home fighter won which would ensure future work .
If the WBA are not involved they need to show it and do something about it !

Does anyone know when this fight will be highlighted on t.v? because i did'nt get to see it and im itching to see it for myself!
Anyhow i bet there was a fix between the bookmakers and judges!I mean Evander was the clear underdog of 5/1 to win this fight and surely a hell of a lot of people backed him at that really good price considering its on a "two horse race bet"and obviousley the bookmakers would have lost a great great amount of ££££££££s if Evander did cause a upset! Its happened before and still goes on in every sport possible! For instance when the Welterweights PRIZEFIGHTER tournament kicked off not soo long ago,i backed Nigel Wright to win it at a great price of 4/1.And he concreted this chances throughout the tournament by winning the quarters, and semmies until the fooking 3 ringside judges said overwise and stopped with going throw to the final and awarding his opponant "Lomax" to the final instead!!
It was a 110% fix NO DOUGHT!!Apparently Wright appealed to the boxing control but im not too sure how far he got in proving this obvious point in that he was robbed!!!!
It knocks me sick!

The judges get well looked after by the promoters in big fights.
They get lots of freebies. So even though there is no official bribe, the judges know whats best for them.

Im really glad that someone seen it the way it trully was in the Lomax vs Wright fight in the semmie of the PRIZEFIGHTER welterweights!!I totally agree that i've never seen a obvious clearly won fight get scored sooo wrong!Wright won easily against Lomax and he would of most proberly won in the final too.I backed him at 4/1 knowning that'll he at least get in the final, but i was well pissed off when he was robbed as he was!!Pure joke that!!
P.S i used to work for Gus and couple of years ago.I was shown around his local boxing gym and i joined his work force in the buliding trade. He has a canny decent stable of boxers.I've always felt sorry for Nigel Wright. He's had a few really crappy decisions likjke that in boxing. He's a really great boxers too!!Shame really:-\

Re: Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
I think one possible reason for the fix may be that the WBA are trying to ensure that Evander never fights again. Remember a lot of us were complaining before hand about who would let him fight again, and I think that either they or the wider boxing commission fraternity is trying to retire him for his own safety. It ain't 24, but that's the only reason I can see, because Valuev is not worth enough to the sport to score it for him, as opposed to cases like ODLH-Sturm

Don King needs to hold on to his last champ at any cost.

Re: Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
In retrospect, the best thing that could've happened to Holyfield would've been getting KTFO'ed by Valuev. Sounds strange, but it would've probably been the only way for Holyfield to finally get the message that he should be doing something else other than boxing at the ripe old age of 46. Now he goes on thinking he's championship material, and he's going to get a rude awakening. I'd hate to see him end up like Ali.

Re: Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
Well thanks to everybody that replied, it seems nobody really has any answers as to who and why it would be fixed. although I certainly don't think it was to ensure Evander never fights again.
I was initially thinking that it was some secret agreement Don King had with the WBA but Chagaev got a decision win over Valuev which would negate that argument somewhat.
What I think is significant though is that when Valuev lost to Chagaev it was to another former Russian territory bloke and based in Germany whereas the other 3 controversial wins, against Donald, Ruiz and Holyfield are all American based.
So my tentative fixing theory is that there is a collabaration with the WBA and German officials to keep this world title belt in Germany and Eastern Europe.
That makes sense to me, and from henceforth that is my conspiracy story.

Re: Ok explain it to me, if it was a fix, who fixed it and why?
Valuev already knew he was guaranteed a win, thats why he didnt show up to fight in the ring..
The sanctioning body should order a rematch to take place in the US
