Kessler wants a new manager YES :)
Well it seems thats Mikkel Kessler is tired of Team Palle and is trying to get out of the contract with Team Palle.
But last time Mads Larsen did something similar we was locked for 2/3 years by Mogens Palle. Hope it doesn´t happen to Kessler.
Source is the Danish newspaper BT :) and the google translation here:
Kessler and Palle close to divorce
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------
The air between Mogens Palle and Mikkel Kessler is so cold that Kessler has allied itself with an attorney
Boxes king Mikkel Kessler has been seriously at odds with its hinterland, Team Palle, in a matter of money and different views on how best Kessler marketed in pursuit of getting a great battle in the U.S..
The relationship is now so cold that Kessler has hired a lawyer. The Danish world champion has not been in contact with his manager and promotorduo, Mogens and Bettina Palle, since he and Mogens Palle was on charm offensive in New York to Calzaghe-Jones Jr. fight on 8 November.
- They have burned me of the six meetings and will continue to say anything with all kinds of struggles, says Kessler.
- But it is a long history. There are some things and no fuss. But we must have some meetings first before I say anything more. But there is a kind of disagreements. About money and other things. How to promote me, he continues.
Ring itself, Mikkel
Mogens Palle, on the other hand, baffled by the fact that Kessler has not itself promise pipe or looked over.
- I must admit that it amazes me that he did not call after me on my account has taken him to the United States three times last year and has led him exposed. It amazes me very much, "said Mogens Palle.
In addition, Kessler mate and odd-job-man Simon Lund Hansen has applied to become a promoter. Kessler explains that the application initially be seen as an attempt to gain the most possible knowledge of boxers' rights in relation to contracts. But the application indicates that an outright divorce may be under way. Mogens Palle can certainly well aware of what looks like a fox cake.
- I know nothing of the matter and do not know what Simon is going with a promoter license. But it seems as strange. If it gives some problems, we just run it "the hard way," says Mogens Palle.
Right to three World Cup matches
He refers to his company through the International Entertainment has an option Mikkel Kessler next three World Cup matches. And the option he intends to stick to all the way to court if necessary.
- That is clear. This is to protect my interests. I have every day the agreements I have made, and I expect also other makes. Mikkel, I have built up over 10 years and guaranteed him big matches, World Cup and one million tracks. I had the pleasure of paying for various operations and so on. So when the boxes reach the top, they should just remember that I have a business to run, "said Palle, who has little left over for Simon Lund Hansen.
- I frankly find it hard to see his potential as a promoter. Simon has never made an honest day's work. But as I said, I do not know of his plans. I stick to my three matches with Mikkel, and Simon subsequently intends to take over Mikkel when my contract expires, then fine with me. By then I want no more, he says.
"It stinks to high heaven"
Kessler says he did not know what he signed
Monday saying it's my own fault. But when they say "you can not sign here" when I will meet some German, and then there are lines of MK, MK, MK, in the fight contract on academic English, so I trust them when my manager 've looked it through. Then he suddenly some option matches on me that he has not told me about. Why would he lie to me?
- I could never find to cheat him or do something. It smells just far away to somewhere, "said Mikkel Kessler.
Kessler lawyer Morten Rose Mejer from Kromann Reumert who have expertise in sports, confirmed yesterday to BT, "it is true that there are disagreements, and it is true that there are some negotiations to be settled."

Thanks for posting and translating.

Re: Kessler wants a new manager YES :)
Now he's going to have to spend a year in court before he fights again. It's obvious the Palle people are doing a Frank Warren with him, keeping him away from America and fighting easy marks in Denmark. And it sounds like the contract will be a bastard to get out of -- I'm guessing "world cup" matches are world championship fights. So effectively kessler is signed to fight three more haussler-level fighters for Palle before he can get out of his contract, if then. It looks like he's a little bit fucked. It's a real shame.

What's a fox cake?
Good for Kessler though, but like Kirkland says, this could seriously damage his career if it keeps him out of the ring for a significant period of time.

Re: Kessler wants a new manager YES :)
This is so damn typical. I absolutely respect Palle for all the things he has done for Danish boxing through more than 50 years, but somehow problems always arise. Funkin BS. Really hope that this won't keep Kessler out of the ring for a prolonged period at least, especially since he is essentially in his prime.
The main issue here - in case people missed it - is that Palle almost always acts as both the fighter's promoter and as the fighter's manager. Which in reality means that the guy - the manager - who is supposed to look out for the fighter is not doing so at all, at the very least not in contractual issues related to promoter issues. If the Danish boxing commission wasn't run by muppets installed by Palle, they would have banned this practice years ago. [Also, regarding the subject of this thread, the really interesting thing, for us no directly involved, is not whether he gets a new manager, but whether he can get a new promoter]
FWIW the Palle camp came out today and said that the problems were exaggerated and that they only Kessler under contract for one more year. So I guess one year out is worst case scenario (alternatively, if he really wants out, he should fight three Hausslers in quick succession and be done with it).
Re: Kessler wants a new manager YES :)

Beats staying out of the ring for 3½ years because of contractual issues like Larsen. Or Markussen (2½ years and running).
Re: Kessler wants a new manager YES :)
Good move. I think he needs a new manager
