Ok should I watch Brokeback Mountain?
I've just read on Ask Men.com that Anne Hathaway is in Brokeback Mountain, and also that she spends most of the film in a state of undress.
I absolutely love this girl, she's rapidly becoming one of world's hottest women in my opinion, because she has a look that's so different from the norm.
I really can't bear the idea of seeing two gay cowboys grope each other, but if she's in it and semi naked I may have to.
To those benders who have already watched it, do you see much of her in the film?
Re: Ok should I watch Brokeback Mountain?
I only watched it once,from what I remember of it,its kind of a chick flick,I mean,its allright,but I dont like chick flicks
Re: Ok should I watch Brokeback Mountain?
I don't mind chick flicks.. Not an enormous fan of Anne Hathoway, but HAVE been tossing up (yes I said up not off) whether to see this movie..
In the other thread about great movies that sucked, someone said this was rubbish.. For me to enjoy a movie based solely on the lifestyle of 2 gay guys, it better have a good story or action or whatever. I don't want to watch it and just feel like i've wasted 2 hours..
Re: Ok should I watch Brokeback Mountain?
IMHO, the only reason Brokeback got the publicity and kudos it did was because it was about two gay guys, and they just don't make mainstream movies like that very often. If it's about a hetero couple, people would be falling asleep in their seats. It just ain't that great.
But that ain't the question Bilbo asked. You seem like an open minded guy. See the movie. It's not exactly hardcore or anything, I think you should be able to handle it, if you're a Hathaway fan you will likely store a few images in your brain that you can whack off to when you get home. :)

I thought the acting sold it,Im not falling over myself to watch it again, but I thought the plot was, well a chick flick, but I did think the acting was pretty good

heh heh, considering the actors were probably straight (At least Ledger was) hell yeah, I'd say the acting was very good. :-X

Yeah it didnt have the shock factor for me,Ive lived in NY LA and was born in Philly,if I saw video footage of a man taking it from a horse, about all Id probably think was,"Man,I bet that hurt like hell"
So two Cowboys in love didnt exactly shock the hell out of me.
I mean credit to both actors for really risking their careers on that film, but I cant be made to watch Beaches at gunpoint. And its the same type of sweeping love story shit that makes your wife get weepy.
I love my wife for rarely making me watch that type of crap, but it was on,and she was curious, and I was stuck watching it. Im only suprised Whitney Houston didnt sing the theme,or Celine Dion

I think we're pretty much on the same page with this topic. It didn't gross me out either, but then again, I didn't have to play the part. So credit to the actors for as slighty different reason also.

In all honesty, thats part of why I give them credit for doing the film. I wouldnt want to do a tongue kiss with a man in the privacy of my own home. These are two straight actors doing it on film.
And Im not saying it like an anti-gay thing,as long as everyone's a consenting adult,I dont really care what in the hell you put where. But being straight, man I couldnt do that.
Actually one of the reasons I think being gay is genetic,Im a really liberal dude, and the very thought of making out with a guy makes me twitch slightly,I cant see how youd choose that.
Let the discussion spin out of control right about now;D
Re: Ok should I watch Brokeback Mountain?
And Bilbo, towards your original question,if your in to that big sweeping epic sort of film, its as good as any other.
I usually fall asleep when they cue the Enya music so they can take the wide shot of whatever mountain is the setting of the film
Panoramic view, big sweeping music, crucial decision,Paul starts to snore
Re: Ok should I watch Brokeback Mountain?
Guys your missing the point, I don't care about the film at all or the plot, I'll be watching it in fast forward anyway.
I just want to know if there's enough of Anne Hathaway's gorgeous body exposed to override the disturbing images of seeing grown men tongue each other?
Basically things like does she get her tits out? Will I see her groped by somebody?
Whilst I'm wanking to her am I likely to be startled by a sudden change of scene and Heath Ledger having his crotch area massaged by some dude? :-\

I still haven't seen the movie the whole way through. Every time it comes on I'm in the middle of something. What I saw was good, but I didn't see any nude women. I do know the man-on-man stuff is like 1% of the movie, it's actually more of a love story between the two.
Anne Hathaway does have a different look. Some days I think she's cute, some days I think she looks like a dog. I think her face is too small for her large features. Her eyes are huge, her mouth is humongous, but sometimes it really seems to work on her.

Yeah that's what I like about her, she looks like a cartoon image of a pretty girl. I've never found her anything less than stunning though, I just love her face.
Re: Ok should I watch Brokeback Mountain?
If you want to see her get fucked by a gay cowboy then the answer is yes.

If she was getting fucked by a Labrador the answer would still be yes
