I don't recall anyone slating Andrade for losing virtually every round to Lucian Bute before almost stopping him.
He showed a great deal tonight, he's got the power to hurt anybody, clinical finishing instincts and he can overcome adversity and pick himself up off the floor to win.
Nobody can tell me that that wasn't the best Jermain Taylor in there tonight, he was in sensational shape and gave everything he had.
It gets tiring that everyone slates our British fighters. He did the business tonight, and showed that when his back is against the wall he can pull out something special to win.
Of all the other guys who people have said would beat him easily we cannot say that of them. Bute almost crumbled against his first real decent test and finished the fight unable to stand, Kessler when he stepped up to world class was beaten in a competitive but clear fashion to Joe Calzaghe, Pavlik got shown up against Bernard Hopkins, Andrade has twice failed in his step up fights but Froch has managed to pull off two great wins back to back and in exciting fashion.
He's the most entertaining 168 lber without a doubt and will learn a tremendous amount from this fight with Taylor.
For me along with Kessler he's the man to beat in the division. In fact none of the 168 lb guys have a win over a fighter more impressive than Jermain Taylor.
He's just made himself a star tonight, well done Carl Froch.
That's cuz no one played up Andrade to be some unstoppable wrecking machine. Fraud was being build up a lot. Especially on this forum. Some of the UK posters and mods (smash) were saying Taylor didn't have a chance. That Fraud was going to wreck him. Fraud was said to have monster power. A granite chin. And overall good skills. I saw none of that. I saw great heart and courage. I'll give him that. But in reality he scored his knock out cuz of Taylor's weak stamina. How anybody can debate that, I have no idea
Re: Lot of hate for Froch
weak stamina meaning a hard straight right that hurt him real bad. He got caught, he was fighting well until he got caught. Stamina my ass.
Re: Lot of hate for Froch
I agree, Bilbo.
He stopped his opponent and in a non controversial manner. You can't beat that at the end of the day. We all know that Taylor can box and do it well when he is focussed. He won a good 10 rounds against BHop in 2 fights, he boxed well in spots against Winky. And he was able to win a fair few rounds against Pavlik in his 2 fights with him. Taylor is no mug and when he gets his jab going is a difficult opponent for anyone, until he falters that is.
Froch too had difficulties with him, and was way down after 6 rounds. But to be fair he persisted and began to catch Taylor more and more as the fight went on. Much like Hopkins and Pavlik in the first fight. And as the pressure was applied Taylor began to meltdown. Or was it becuase he gassed, either way it doesn't matter at the end of the day.
Froch needed the knockout and he got it. I say well done to Froch for getting it done in the end. I think Kessler is the man at 168, but he seems to be having issues staying active. I don't think Froch beats Kessler, but I give him a shot at most other fighters at 168. He needs to let the Calzaghe thing go, that's just becoming tiresome now. :vd:;D
Re: Lot of hate for Froch
i don't think the hate for Froch is because he showed courage and guts and comeback power.
I just think the way he was hyped he is expected to take out Taylor early.
I like Froch more after this fight. But I'm not gonna proclaim him the next coming of superman. Because he isn't. What he is is a good fighter with great power. But he would lose against the likes of Kessler.

Hyped by who exactly, himself? The uk media are hardly hyping him not a single station wanted to pay for the rights to have the fight live. The only terrestrial showing is a replay screening on ITV tonight, that's shameful our only current world champ and nobody wanted to televise it, that pretty much shows that there wasn't a great deal of hype in the UK media for him.
In America they hadn't heard of him and I've been watching the previews on Showtime, they wern't hyping Froch at all it was all about the Resurrection of Jermain Taylor.
It annoys me when people claim a fighter is really hyped when in fact what you mean is a couple of people on here might have been saying things about him.
Of course he hypes himself but any decent boxer who wants earn money at the sport does.
He wasn't much hyped at all imo before this fight, but trust me he will be from now on :)

Froch is a good fighter , but not great , he needs to fight Kessler , who i think we all regard as the best in the division.

Re: Lot of hate for Froch
How much more of a win is needed these days to prove your the man. In my opinion, Taylor should have totally finished him off when he had the chance, and at the least jumped on froch when he came out for the 4th.
Taylor to me seemed to be sometimes scared to let punches go. Froch is so easy to hit, or looks so easy to hit, in terms of the serious lack of defense.

well said mate
Re: Lot of hate for Froch
Pavlik did the better job y far on the undefeated fresh version of Taylor.
Dont give Froch too many props for fighting a faded middleweight, he will do that himself

I agree - Taylor's stamina was what did him in.
Froch is a good fighter but he is no Calzaghe......Joe would have murdered Froch........I think Kessler and Andrade would beat him as well......
Taylor needs to work on his stamina, he definitely has the skill and power to beat Froch or even Kessler/Andrade but he needs to be able to box for 12 rounds.
Re: Lot of hate for Froch
This was the first time ive seen a whole fight of his. I have nothing but respect for the guy. He came overseas to fight the favored and more popular guy, and pulled it out. Im not particularly impressed with his boxing ability. I think hes slow and predictable at times, but he makes up for it with heart, determintion, and a great chin. I think he should have made a few new fans last night. Fights like this are good for boxing. Would love to see him in with Bute or Green.
As for Taylor, I like him but he hasnt learned from his mistakes. Just like the Pavlik fight, he has his man in trouble early, lets him off the hook, and goes into survival mode late. I think Froch and Pavlik are tougher mentally that is the difference. Sucessful champions perform in the championship rounds. If Taylor had Frochs determination, hed probably be undefeated right now.

Its all baby talk on here
I dont know anyone who has been hyping Froch as a World beater. Even his network ITV didn't want a piece of this fight.
And all this talk of Taylors Stamina... So??? This fight was fairly even going in and it played out how most of us thought it could, albeit in more dramatic fashion.
Great fight! Froch has a heart of a True champ. Needs to keep away from Kessler though ;)
P.S Hope Dawson stays at 175 :p
