just re-watched Hatton vs. Pacquiao
notice a lot of things this time around, Ricky fought a very dumb first round, and Manny was a lot more composed in the first, Ricky fought a better round in the 2nd and did use the jab a bit, someone had said that Ricky didn't rock him and he stepped on his foot, watched that point over 10 times and don't see it, it was a solid impact shot and Manny was rocked a bit, also the way he reacts afterwards leads you to believe that as well, he got careless and stumbles (not so much from the shot) into the ropes, he gets his composure back and circles out, then did something i didn't like at all really, he does a half clinch but is far enough that he could whack Ricky with uppers, didn't like that at all really and he does it in other fights as well, but in his defense Hatton did throw some shots at the back of the head, all in all a good win for Manny, the way Hatton hit the canvass reminded me a bit of Jones Vs Johnson, nasty impact
Re: just re-watched Hatton vs. Pacquiao
Two things. Manny took his opponent's punches well last May 2nd. And I wish I could say the same thing with Hatton.
Hatton was outclassed in every department - plain and simple. We're gonna see similar thing with Wlad-Haye.

Manny took them well in the fact that he recouperated, no denying he felt the left hook and was rocked by it, i'm not saying he was seriously hurt, cause he wasn't but he was rocked, it shouldn't be any surprise either, Larios rocked the shit out of Pacquiao and he's a Super Bantamweight at most, and anyone would have gone down at the last shot, i'm not favoring anyone in Wlad-Haye, IMO Klitschko's gonna win and easy, but i could give a fuck less who wins, same thing that was going on for the Hatton-Pacquiao fight

Yeah. Larios rocked Pac in 3rd round. But Pac knocked him down TWICE and won a wide decision. The Pac-Hatton fight proved a lot of things. The one thing that I should highlight in that event is... PAC CAN TAKE A PUNCH FROM A NATURALLY BIGGER GUY (152 lbs).

did i dispute the fact that Pac beat Larios? no, he could have KO'd him the same round, doesn't change the fact that his chin got checked and he get rocked by Larios

I can make the same case with Cotto then... when he fought Torres. Heck, even pillowhands Malinaggi rocked him in the 11th.

the difference with Cotto is he was killing himself to make weight at 140 against a natural 140 lb fighter, not like Manny who was still comfortably making 130 and getting rocked by a guy who had jumped up from 122 lbs, Torres is considered one of the hardest hitters in his weight class so no, not really the same thing

Hatton was garbage. I didn't see one legal punch that he landed clearly.
Hatton was so wide open, it was embarrasing. Head movement? I saw it once in round two. Defence? I saw it once in round two. His head was static for around 90% of the fight. What was he thinking of? I can only assume he thought, "I can take his punches, I'm just going to walk through them".
Ridiculously bad tactics.

agreed, Ricky fought a horrible fight, but he did land a very nice short left hook on the inside, aside from that it was all Pacquiao

So you keep saying...
again and again...
in every single thread...
whether it is related at all to Wlad or not.
You're like a typical Pac Nut Hugger... the good thing is that there's only one of you though...

When the hell was Pacquiao rocked? I don't know what fight you were watching, Pacquiao was rocked in round 2 against Marquez or against Oscar Larios, but not against Hatton.

There is nothing Ricky could have done to win the fight, he just doesn't bring enough to the table.

It was shockingly poor on Hattons part. Manny deserves credit because he went out there and performed as he should. We can't really say the same of Hatton. A shame really. :-\

Still completely gobsmacked about how tactically naive hatton was and how he did every possible thing he could do wrong to lose it.
I suspect once you got caught flush on with an overhand right 30 seconds in you instantly go into survival mode for the rest of the round. But after a good minute to recover he just went back to the same old tactics of lunging in and getting tagged on EVERY single occasion.
Spent 3 months telling everyone how as long as hatton got through the 1st 4 rounds he`d win it. Within 30 seconds i knew straight off the bat that wasnt going to happen!!!
