What ya'll think about jones lacy
I don't get on here much anymore but i was curious what you guys think about this fight. Clearly not the most important fight we have coming up but it does interest me greatly. I figured we could take a break from the PBF ,PAC, JMM, and Cotto talk just for a little while. This is my favorite contrast of styles, slick boxer against brawler.
I have Jones even at this stage being too fast and too slick for lacy. I feel as though Jones will land the cleaner harder punches through out the fight. Lacy will appear to have some moments when Jones goes to the ropes but other than that Jones shouldn't have too much trouble.

As soon as the fight was made I thought it was a fun match-up, at this stage of their careers why the fuck not?

Im going with Lacy.Both are on the otherside but Lacy,If anything,is just more 'solid',durable and physical.I really think Jones legs are iffy & will be worked big time and put on the ropes for most of it.I just dont think he retains the reflex and punch there or at ring center to hold him off.

I think Jones should win, but Lacy still has the power to hurt him if he's able to land clean. It's an interesting, albeit largely meaningless, fight.

If Jones show only a spark of what he used to be in his good old days of glory, Lacy will get systematically dismantled.

I remember people saying something similar about Mike Tyson. "If he is only 50 percent of what he was he should be able to....." This kind of talk was right before the Danny Williams and Kevin McBride fights and Tyson got wiped out in both. Jones spent way too much of his career relying on his un-natural speed and punch. He has neither any more. Lacy by a late round TKO.

You see, I am not so sure, what sunk him against Joe is that he was gun shy but when he was firing, the speed was good and he was tagging him fairly often. Let's see though but I am sure he'll beat him. The problem with Tyson is that he never dedicated properly in training to regain his "50%". I think that Jones, him, can.

I think even an old jones has enough speed and power to be able to handle lacy. the only question is how will jones react to lacys power once hit. will he step up or fold?

Lacy is a one arm fighter at this point.
He got a gift against Mendoza, and he lost pretty badly to Taylor.
Roy Jones is going to another win over another former world champion to his resume.
Anthony Hanshaw was more of a threat.

The same way I feel about Jones-Trinidad. Two shot fighters going at it isn't too thrilling for me.

I think Jones is just way too past it. He didn't have that killer instinct against Calzaghe and don't think he has much left. With that said, I think this Roy Jones still gets a decision win. Lacy will eat that right hand lead all night.
This fight means nothing but I'll still end up watching it. This will be a Fight Night Round 3 match up considering whenever one person picked Roy Jones the other person chose Lacy and vice versa cause they were the only good fighters in the weight class statistically...

I think Jones will win easily. He managed to hit Joe with quite a few clean shots in the early rounds. Lacy is too slow and will lose by UD.

I think Jones wins a meaningless fight. I just hope this going on too long doesn't tarnish his legacy. Jones WAS unarguably one of the greatest of all time but now? I wouldn't say completely shot but not even 25% the man he was!
