Khan in talks to fight Salita
Re: Khan in talks to fight Salita
I'm gonna go ahead and assume you want this on the main board.

Haha, yes cheers I just sent Fenster a message to move it, lost my mind for a moment there. ;D
Re: Khan in talks to fight Salita
Salita's unbeaten record will help sell it to the casual.
And obviously being a non-puncher makes it a good match for Khan.
Re: Khan in talks to fight Salita
can't be surprised at this, its not like he's gonna fight a puncher any time soon, wonder why he's not looking to avenge his only loss

If they wanted to make an interesting fight with someone who does not have a knock out punch they should have put him against someone like Malignaggi. Not someone who is ranked 59th in the world. He may be undefeated but im guessing there is a reason for that ranking, because he has fought nobodies.

I dont know if it was his last fight but i watched him on Hbo within the last year and the guy he fought who was a journeyman was robbed Salita is average with nice quick hands that is it, Khan will win this easily.
Re: Khan in talks to fight Salita
This is a useless fight for sure..... Nothing gained. I guess its his first defence so a soft opponent is a bit easier to take. He won't be able to continue to do it though, otherwise people will certainly not buy into it..... Salita's 0 is certainly gonna go....

It was on the Jones-Calzaghe undercard I think you mean, he was up against a short, pudgy Mexican guy who thoroughly outboxed him & but for poor conditioning would have had him out of there. To be fair Salita has been the mandatory for about 2 years so it's only fair he gets his shot. Khan will have him out of there within 6 though.
Re: Khan in talks to fight Salita
Frank Warren will dig up / resurrect / anything that can make the 10 stone limit , to pad out Amir China chin Khan's record , if anyone's mother or elderly Aunt can make 10 stone , then they can make good money fighting Khan, as long as they dont have power;D.
Re: Khan in talks to fight Salita
I really don't think this is a bad fight. He's only just won the belt and at 21 years old is clearly still a work in progress.
Surely you guys don't want him moved too fast and to end up like Fernando Vargas, burnt out by his mid twenties.
Fighting his mandatory is what Joe Calzaghe did for almost a decade, give him a break.
I don't know anything about Salita, other than he's the mandatory and is an undefeated fighter. Ending a 30-0 record will look good on Khan's resume at least.
Re: Khan in talks to fight Salita
I have little interest in this. If muppets want to pay exorbitant amounts to watch poor PPV matchups then they should go ahead and do so. Sensible people would be better off cutting their nails, going to the pub or even writing hate mail to Frank Warren.

except a suitcase full of cash for Warren, Roach & Khan and probably Salita oh yes and all the 'I just beat an beaten fighter' that you can stomach from all concerned and our 'news'papers.
Morales may not have been such a poor choice:cool:

Agreed and Salita is better than ordinary although Khan should win this easily. How's Salita's chin?

Didn't look too solid against Derrick Campos, a journeyman Lightweight, who was unlucky not to have him out of there & was shockingly robbed against Salita last November. Plus he also got knocked down by a former Featherweight, Ramon Montano, who has an extremely low KO percentage.
