...when all the euphoria is gone, let's talk...
All the reactions now reminds me when:
-Pac TKO'd Oscar - he was invincible;
-Pac KO'd Hatton - he cemented his invincible status; and now,
-Mayweather totally shuts out Marquez - he's back and he's
invincible...
...and that...
-Pac is better than Floyd because he totally shut out and even TKO's dela
Hoya which Floyd couldn't;
-Pac is infinitely better than Floyd when he KO's Hatton much quicker and
with just one shot at the weight where Hatton is at his best - Pac now
(then) can beat Mayweather; and now,
-Mayweather will wreck Pac real bad because he just totally shut out a
man who Pac couldn't decisively beat...
all which I thought then and now was thoroughly naive or simplistic.
Therefore;D, we'll have a more rational discussion when the all the dusts has settled and all the post-fight euphoria gone.
...in the meantime, I'm ready to give back Floyd his P4P #1 status - that's how fair I am, at least until the Cotto fight. We'll see how Pac does tnere...
Re: ...when all the euphoria is gone, let's talk...
I'm sure I speak for many people here when I say this.
SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT PAC. NOT EVERY THREAD NEEDS TO HAVE HIS NAME MENTIONED IN IT.
Re: ...when all the euphoria is gone, let's talk...

:o:o:o
Personally I don't percieve this as being all that meaningful a victory for Floyd. He beat a pumped up lightweight and still reneged on making weight. It's anyones guess what he weighed in the ring, but he sure looked far bigger than Marquez!
With all those advantages, the questionable matchmaking to begin with and the shady antics...I cannot help but downplay the significance of this win.

Check what weight pac fought dela hoya at and then check what weight mayweather had fought him at and i think youll find your dela hoya argument null and void ;)

C'mon, Mizzy, you know better than to bait me with one of your anti-pac ramblings. But I don't really mind if you keep on trying coz I won't take the bite anyway. I'm cool...

I can answer that with reason but I'll resist the temptation 'cause I think it's not the right time...
...Actually fellas, there a several things I can nitpick about the fight today, but as I've said, I'll wait 'till when the dust settle and the euphoria is gone.' Gotta go for now. I'll be back.

So true! PBF is the ultimate self-publicist, ducked the weight question with Kellerman!
Marquez made the weight and trained right, Im guessing that PBF knew all along he was gonna come in over and trained to come in over! Should be reviewed and classed a no-contest imo:mad:
Re: ...when all the euphoria is gone, let's talk...
Hello everyone!
Sure Marquez is a pumped up super featherweight. He gained few pounds (rather fat than muscles), he's probably not at his peak at the age of 35 and few wars in the ring behind him but we should give Mayweather his credit. Marquez still is one of the best guys in the business, he's a fabulous fighter, great warrior and he was just helpless.
Mayweather was the bigger guy in the ring, he had height and reach advantage but I believe that it was speed and skills that made the difference. Floyd was much faster, he's defense was so good that he seemed just untouchable whereas Marquez couldn't do anything about Floyd's hand speed and punches coming from different angels.
Marquez wasn't the biggest challange Mayweather could pick but I regard that fight as a tune up before fighting guys that could be a really threat to Mayweather's unblemished record.
