Thoughts on that Mayweather thread...
I went to bed last night hoping that there would be some funny voting on my poll and some silly posting in my "Is JT Rock a Mayweather nuthugger thread?", but obviously it didn't turn out like that. On reflection I think CFH was right to take it off of the main boards, as it was a bit unusual. But I think it did also take away the ability of those who only post boxing to have a little vote. But seeing how it degenerated...well, it had to be hidden I guess.
But that is not what this thread about. I have read through it and seen that the thread has been locked and to be honest I didn't expect it to go down the path that it took. I don't mind JT Rock saying bad things to me as I can deal with that okay, but I was shocked by the aggressive back and forth nature of some of the posts that ensued in that thread. It got way too personal and got a bit nuts. I wasn't expecting it to get like that at all. My "Is Bruce Lee the archetype Internet troll?" thread never got like this one did and I was expecting something more like that.
Anyway, it's another day and life goes on much as always. What's the deal with Lefty? Is this another temporary banning? I don't expect many replies to this thread, but just wanted to say something and was unable to post on the other thread.
Re: Thoughts on that Mayweather thread...
If you didn't want to keep it going, you wouldn't have made this thread.
But w/e...I believe you regarding not wanting it to go there. I havent read all the stuff that happened, but I think this. JT is a mayweather fan. People jump all over mayweather all the time, myself included. The dude just had a fight. Ofc he is going to be excited by the results, maybe even a bit over the top. It justifies his arguements for a long time in defence of PBFs abilities.
I think we need to be more considerate regarding post fight enthusiasm. I just finished a fight Saturday, and if someone tries to tell me I sucked, i gonna take you're damn head off! lol just kidding....But u get my drift ;)
Adrenaline is a powerful drug.
Re: Thoughts on that Mayweather thread...
No YB, this thread is not of the challenging nor mocking type. Just a way for me to comment on something I am otherwise unable to comment on. I can't see it going the same way as the other thread.
In regard to Mayweather himself, well, I can understand being proud of a fighter you like. But to justify it on the basis of fighting a much smaller man just seems a bit ridiculous to me. Mayweather has all the ability in the world, but he is damn frustrating. He could have come back and even fought Berto. But no, he comes back against a guy who looked like he had all he could deal with at LW. It's a bit pathetic really, so he's bound to come in for criticism.
In a roundabout way it would be like me trying to defend Calzaghe's win over Manfredo. It's just not possible though and one should simply not go there.

Thats not the point Miles, Manfredo has nowhere near the ability as a Hall of Famer like JMM, that why I get passionate because you think the whole world feels like you do, sorry they dont and apparently over a million people disagree with you wholeheartedly and you cant except that...
Also I apologize for throwing daggers your way I lost my cool and I can admit it, but I still stand by my initial post in your original thread
Re: Thoughts on that Mayweather thread...
Shite.Being at work can suck during the day...miss all of the nutty shite around here. Now its locked. That thread ended up a fooking mess,no place for railing on the mans wife, family etc.Simply fucked up stuff.Things can start in a harmless form of sarcasm,a jab in the ribs, only to plunge into lunacy in the blink of an eye.
Sometimes people are to quick to lump things together based on similar opinions concerning fighters and fights. It does not have to translate into labeling all supporters-detractors a 'hater' or a hugger.Everyone of us have a favorite fighter who brings out the fanatic in us.When your fighter looks good, your going to shout it up in the immediate aftermath...at time ALOT ;D.You butt heads and then you move on!Dude is no hugger.JT cool, compliment to this place......Mayweather a unqualified dickhead....see that was easy .

It was just a roundabout comparison really. Marquez is a great fighter, as is Mayweather, but you have to admit that they are weight divisions apart in terms of any real competitiveness. Like I say, I just find it frustrating more than anything and really hope we get a proper fight next time out.
I apologize too and have no hard feelings at all. Like I say, I really had no expectations that the thread would fall that far off the rails and that's one of the reasons I wanted to say something here. I don't feel good that it got like that.
Re: Thoughts on that Mayweather thread...
I never really participated on that thread because it's getting personnal.
It's should be about boxing and not dragging some peoples privacy and family.

Creepy...
And no Lefty is not on another temporary. Was warned loads of times.
Re: Thoughts on that Mayweather thread...
Haven't really had time to be active on the forum much in the past few days, other than browsing the odd thread on my phone, but that thread was fuckin ridiculous. I'm cool with Lefty, & he's one of the members I would have a drink with in real life, but he lost the plot with JT well & truly.
Tbh, I think it should have been left there & a callout thread like that in the main board was always gonna be trouble. The problem with those threads is that even if they're made in humour by the original poster & most who follow & taken as a joke by the 'victim' & everyone else who reads it, there's always gonna be someone who takes it somewhere it doesn't need to go.

I'm just kidding mate
Lefty as i see it become the spokeperson of some forum members in a heated debate. When the debate goes out of hand, i notice he's in the middle of controversy.
