how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
for those who are good in estimation? or who can base it on both of their ppv buys history? say, if the fight is going to be held at mgm grand with the hype going on around this two: can this break ground in ppv buys boxing history? i very much think it would though but i'm not sure how much.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
Very hard to say,... they are both hugely popular but not as much as DLH yet... so I would say somewhere between 1.4 and 1.6 would seem reasonable to me.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
I'm with nameless, I think it will do great numbers (1.5 mil IMO), but its not going to touch Oscar/PBF IMO.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
It depends on the outcome of the Cotto fight if he gets past him impressively then it would be close to 1.5 to 2 million easily. I see alot of Pac vs PBF threads but no one has really mentioned the opposite if Cotto gets past Pacman. For some reason I see Cotto vs PBF in March of next year in MSG.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
If Manny beats Cotto and they make it then it could do close to two million. I think they'd be hoping for closer to two than one and a half.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
If Pac gets past Cotto, dominantly, and they continue to market it right, beginning with grassroots social networking platforms, more exposure through main stream television media, and all of the traditional means, I can see this having a go at the record for PPV buys. There are a lot of people who didn't buy Mayweather, who have bought PAC. A lot. And many more already talking about the potential match up, who haven't bought either yet.
It would take a lot of things working right, but I think it is possible.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
if arum's smart enough, i say he should spend a lot in just promoting this fight, bring hype to it as much as possible: say the tv. ads, interviews, posters etc etc... i say with pac vs pbf, we would see one of, if not, the most anticipated fight for years. even if it might be a "walk in the park" for pbf, this will still be a great and entertaining fight coz pac's on it. pac never gives up, has a lot of beef with the mayweathers, and most especially has a whole nation's weight upon his shoulders.

More than Oscar had this huge ability to draw more crowd than anybody else hehe. There will be loads of buy, to me, anything between 1.2 and 1.6 is staggering still, I think that the 1.4 to 1.6 fork is reasonable in the circumstances:)

it's arum's job to break that. we boxing fans know what's the most anticipated fight out there. (pbf-pac)he has to hype this fight and splurge just for the propaganda to break the record of hoya. pbf vs pac will spew a lot of drama i bet.
and i can't wait if they'll make pac-pbf 24-7!. with that alone it will bring interest to most casual fans around the world.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
i'll be greatly disappointed if pac vs pbf won't break the greatest ppv buy in history more than hoya vs pbf. i say pac vs pbf has more drama than that fight.

Personally, I don't care much about the PPV break through or not; I would prefer a good score as it would show that Boxing is healthy and would spread good indirect promotion over the sport but before everything, I want a good match; a breaking record PPV without a good match doesn't interest me that much.

Yep, I think this is accurate.
If Manny beats Cotto, then I think they'd be looking at a minimum of 1.5 buys, they'd be expecting around 1.75 million, and hoping for 2 million plus.

close to 2 million then. i hope it will do more. how lucky will be a new fan of the sport if this will be the breakthrough fight he watches that he will be introduced to the world of boxing!
i can see the title of the fight: "THE REAL P4P" or "WORLD RULER" that alone brings much intrigue needed for the hype of this fight.
Re: how would you estimate the ppv buys for a pbf-pac showdown?
There's no chance it will beat 2 million. Trust me. I always get these PPVs spot on. Fact.
