Dinner

I decided to except an invitation this year to the Boxers Writers Dinner, Guest of Fred Burcombe. Sat next to Gary Mason who kept me amused all night, the guy is as funny as Fuck, miss Him on telly was a great pundit. Met again my old sparring partner Billy Walker Jesus, seventy and doesnt look a day older than fifty. Bobby Neil lovely man still smiling, Big Frank seem to enjoy himself. Got grabbed from behind and cuddled by Chris Eubanks, turned round and the first thing He said Scraps, throwing a left Hook, Always turn it. He said He was explaining it to his Son the other Day ;D. It was all our yesterdays. Then started explaining to James Degale all about Boxing for the next half Hour you could see the kid trying to escape but could He Fuck. One Brilliat night highly recommended ;D

Its the 1st time Ive excepted in ten years, forgot what I was missing. Kept going outside for a ciggy with my smoking partner Mick Williamson, for the 1st time in years we were smoking His. Interestingly someone said what do you notice H about this year, it was Gary I think. Said I didnt know, Gary said theres no young ones here well He said 20 top whack. He explained theres nothing coming through, I thought sad that but make Him wrong. Talked at length to Jefries well I gave him a bollocking boxed crap last time but a good prospect, nice Kid. Frank Maloney looked great, as did Terry Spinks looks better now than 10 years ago ;D. Jarvis Astaire looked good thought He was dead.

Would love to have been there Scap, sounds quality

The London area Ex-Boxers Association used to have their do at our students union when I was there, always the best night to work the bar, quality bunch of guys, and great tippers after a few beers!

I was always impressed with the camaraderie and friendliness of them as a group.

Funny, X Boxers suppose to be skint and in trouble, there were two on my Table, sorry three all doing very well. Think one is about to go on the Board for Prisons, the other has a company with a turnover of 62 million they have done Brilliant. Another lives in a nice area of Bournmouth in a lovely House all paid for, nice to see ;D. On the other side Honeygan dresses like a pimp, Mickey Cantwell still looks 16, Jim Mc Donnel looks teriffic, Colin McMillan looks great, because He is ;D, Corny Carr still 12 stone asked me about Boxing again told Him Fuck Off. Eddie Avoth looked Fatastic wonder what He is on whatever it is I want some ;D

Did the treatment/operation to remove the lisps from Chris work?

Funny that Mick,it seems to have done. Certainly doesnt stop Him talking ;D. Does look well, always had a soft spot for Chris, He is a lovely guy dont think He has a bad Bone in His body. He just waffles on.The times He asked me to train Him, I refused not because His attitude, just because He would have worn me out :rolleyes: ;D. Use to love taking my Fighters to sparr with Him, but a couple of weeks were enougth ;D.

Funny one Nigel Benn asked me to train Him before the Collins Fight actually a year before. Reason I didnt was it would have upset Chris, didnt want to do that ;D. Had Nigels Brother round our house for a fortnight bringing soul food every night, we lived well those 2 weeks ;D.

He should have kept the lisp.

Scrap, I can understand you not giving me an answer to this but I'll ask you anyway. You always have nothing but good to say about boxers past and present. But there's got to be one or two out there past or present who are total cunts. There has to be a Joey Barton or two or even a Joey Barton's brother amongst all that lot, stands to reason. So any beans you'd like to spill? :)

he told Bunce he prefers the lisp because it is sexy. Why is it sexy? because the lisp can be impersonated but the whistle cannot therefore making it sexy. 0_o
