Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
Shane Mosley Next For Mayweather if Pacquiao Crumbles - Boxing News
This is great for Shane, if Shane can get past berto, because it will set him up for a fight against the winner of PAC/FLOYD. Or if they can't agree on the purse he will leap frog one of them.
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
I think this is just a negotiation tactic... I can't see them moving away from Pacquiao-Mayweather its too big, and HBO along with the fans want it too badly.

Exactly. Mosley - Mayweather isn't a bad consolation prize, thought I think Floyd beats him handily.
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
I knew those other reports were BS!! :) This is good news although i want Floyd to fight Pac, if they can't agree to fight then mosley would be the 2nd best fight
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
Worst career move for Floyd if he doesn't fight Pac. I agree with above posters, just trying to gain leverage in negotiating. Fighting Mosley would bring in some money for sure, but I don't think it would even bring in half of what Pac and Floyd would do. It's going to crush records I feel
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
Feel free to bash me to bits, but Floyd will never fight Shane. He scared of Shane. This is just to psych up the Pac Camp.

I won't bash you at all because I think the same, they will offer Shane the fight in 3-4 years at best just to make sure he's shot.
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
Good news. At least we're assured that Mayweather will be facing tougher competition. Pacquiao, Mosley/Berto are the next possible opponent for Floyd. Great.
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
i hope that the Floyd Pac fight gets made but I would be happy for a Floyd Moseley fight as well.

I thought he was shot when he was limping to the finish line against Mayorga! Then he got that last second knockout and has gone from strength to strength since. I wasn't even sure if he'd have won on points, I was undecided.
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
And still everyone's afraid to ever utter the words "Mighty"
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
This might just very well be posturing or tactics on the part of Floyd Jr's negotiating team. Money, money money.... MONEY! The one named after it certainly would not, in his right mind, turn down an opportunity to make a monster killing of it!
By the way, found this.... Nice to be reassured that the PBF team is not about to bolt out of this potential mega-fight, as other posters are worried of, in any shape or form that easy!
That's one end, while on the other end... here's hoping that Bob Arum, of TOPRANK, doesn't allow old wounds from the PBF discord to detract from attaining a fruition for this biggest boxing date,(in a very long while).
This has to be made not only for the fans but for the health of the sport of boxing in general!
***********
Floyd can choose anyone he wishes to negotiate for him," Arum went on. "I assume that if Floyd wants to do the fight then that person will emerge. But Floyd doing it himself will be a catastrophe."
When told of Arum's comments, Leonard Ellerbe, an adviser to Mayweather, chuckled and provided a window into the discord that exists between the two camps. Arum is Mayweather's former promoter.
"Mayweather Promotions is discussing Floyd's options right now," Ellerbe said. "When it comes time to express those options, Richard (Schaefer) will be the one to express our position to Top Rank.
"This is typical Arum, to be playing games like this. It's no secret, the whole world knows that both camps don't see eye to eye. But Floyd has made it perfectly clear that he wants the fight."

Promoter Bob Arum told jabs at Floyd Mayweather Jr. camp because of stalled Manny Pacquiao talks
Re: Ellerbe: We'll look to Mosley if Pac crumbles
Say Mayweather and Pacquiao teams can't make a contract because they can't agree on the split.
Given the choice, who do you think Mosley would opted to fight? Mayweather or Pacquiao?
Mayweather would probably ask for a 75/25 split while Pacquiao a 65/35 split and 142lbs. (Just kidding....)
But really who would Mosley rather fight? Which fighter would be bigger for Mosley's legacy?

How nice would it be to be Mosley with an bidding war between Pacquiao and Mayweather for your name.

If Floyd is scared of Mosley, why did he call him out a couple of years ago?
I do agree that this is just a negotiating ploy though.
