Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight

He said they agreed on allowing it at 147 rather than a catch weight, but they seem insistent on a 50/50 split.
Re: Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight
Manny's last fight? I doubt so. Smells more like a promotional lever to me than anything else.
Re: Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight
One needs to realize that Roach is the loudmouth, negative voice of the Pacquiao camp. This is in order to protect Manny's sparkling image... he's pretty much in politics already :D
Re: Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight
If PAC beats Mayweather then I guess Manny should retire with this as his final fight if he loses then fight Marquez for a 3rd time to go out with a great win on his LEGENDARY career.

Would a 3rd Marquez fight be great for Pac? I mean, Floyd made him look so pedestrian. Certainly that prospect has lost a good deal of its luster. I say retire without fighting Marquez again just to chap his ass. Marquez is nowhere near the draw Manny is.

ummm who's to say he'll beat Marquez when he drops back down to 140?

i dont understand why there is such an issue about splitting. of course 50/50 makes sense!
If not why dont they do 60/40 in favour of the winner, (floyd should like this as he says it will be an easy fight), and even 70/30 for the winner if by knockout.
Anyway they decide it will make both men a lot of money. If the fight does not happen because either fighter refuses to budge from over 50pct, then it would degrade either of their legacy completely.

Floyd is no fool. He couldn't KO Marquez and Cotto didn't have enough behind his punch, what would make Floyd possibly think he'd have a chance to KO Manny? Let's say the fight purse is worth $30 Million. A 60/40 split is $18/$12. $6 Million in difference. The bigger the purse the wider the difference in earnings. At 40 it's 24/16, At 50 its 30/20. If it breaks records, it's a lot of Fukn money.
Re: Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight
I actually like Manny to fight Nate Campbell but I don't think Nate deserves a fight with Manny he is NOT WORTH IT.
Re: Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight
I can see both fighters retire after this fight as there would be nothing bigger.

That would make sense but how many fighters do you know that have gone out on top?
Not many.
They will both fight on for different reasons.
Floyd for the money.
Manny coz he loves to fight and loves being the idol of his country men.

True but nothing would be bigger than this fight. It will be the last boxing fight ever for some fans. ;)

They've still got Donaire. He'll be getting a big popularity boost if Manny does retire.
Re: Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight
Its Gona Be A Good Fight.
Re: Freddie Roach: Mayweather is Manny's last fight
Why does everyone think that this will only be one fight?
Look at the money involved, even more could be made in a rematch especially if the first one is good/close, a trilogy is very possible. The only other fight for pac really is one final fight with marquez.
