You still blame Floyd?
What a surprise, Manny is fighting another Top Rank fighter who wont ask for tests..... I hope no one buys his fight.

There was no agreement the shit didnt get sorted out the fight in around 9 weeks away couldnt go on for much longer, Floyd has also spoke to Hattons people for a fight on the same date. I know which fight I will be watching.

Pac had just as many chances to make the fight happen as Floyd. In final negotiations Floyd gave up 14 days Pac only 6. Pac is to blame for the fight not happening. Now he will fight a couple of Top Rank fighters and retire so he is never tested. Your arguments have no basis except for a disliking of Floyd.
Re: Looks like it's Pac v Clottey on 13/03/10
Makes sense Clottey gets a WBO title shot after losing his last fight was a WBO title shot.
Does Clottey know yet?

Top Rank announced that Pac would be fighting Malignaggi.
Malignaggi himself came out and said he had not been contacted.
Top Rank annouced Pac would be fighting Foreman.
Pacquiao and Roach came out and said Foreman was too tall.
What will be the issue this time?

I take everything these muppets say with a pinch of salt. These announcements are typically misleading or simply not true. I won't believe anything until Clottey says something.
Arum and Co. are garbage.
Re: Looks like it's Pac v Clottey on 13/03/10
For some reason I don';t think the fight with Floyd is dead yet. I have a feeling in 1 week we'll get an anouncement that the fight is on.
Hey I know it's wishful thinking, but how many times have Arum said the fight was dead? It's like a boy crying wolf.
Re: Looks like it's Pac v Clottey on 13/03/10
It's not the superfight that PBF-Pacquiao would be (obviously), but as long as there aren't any bullshit catchweight stipulations Pacquiao - Clottey is a legitimate fight. I'm hard pressed to think of a more challenging opponent at 147 who would be able to make the Mar. 13 date.
Re: Looks like it's Pac v Clottey on 13/03/10
This is a very credible fight for all but one reason... it's not Mayweather. I still think there's enough time for that to get made. If there's nothing by next week then I'll finally give up hope.

I agree. Assuming it happens, which is a big assumption, the funny thing is now Pacquiao will have fought more legitimate welterweights in one year than Floyd has his whole career. :o Actually, it was already funny when he fought Cotto before Floyd did.
Neither Floyd or Manny are my favorite fighters, therefore, I am not as passionate about this as some of you guys have been. Where I stand on all of this is that at the end of the day, Pac should have submitted to the random tests to shut Floyd up, but nothing Floyd has done has changed my mind about his career over the last four years. Somehow Floyd, for good reason perhaps, managed to wiggle his way out of the first legitimate test he's ever faced at welterweight. Again, Pacquiao should have taken the tests, but still.
Since the Pac fight isn't happening, Floyd needs to silence his own critics and fight Shane or some other legitimate threat at or above his weight. Bottom Line. End of story.

So facing a bigger undefeated Ricky Hatton, or a Carlos Baldomir who just beat Judah and Gatti and was the linear WW champ, but also undefeated in over 8 years weren't legitimate tests for Mayweather at WW? Many people now are saying they knew all along that Floyd would beat Baldomir the way he did or that Floyd would beat Ricky the way he did, but they didn't at the time. In fact if you look back at the pre-fight ring magazine for Floyd against Baldomir a lot of the magazines thought it was either going to be a close tough fight for Floyd or that Carlos would win because he was too big and he had already beaten Zab, who's athleticism, gave Floyd some troubles.

Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey are more challenging fights at welterweight than Carlos Baldomir and Ricky Hatton.

Now you're changing the criteria for your argument. I would say Baldomir and Zab were legit WW challenges moreso over Pacquiao, if anything.

You may be right on that point. Pac beat Cotto who beat Zab though. But, there is no way to tell.
My point was that Pacquiao will have fought more legit welterweights in one year than Floyd has his whole career.
