Calling All Beatles Fans - Saddo Boxing Beatles Discussion Thread!!
Until the last few months, I have just been a casual Beatles fan - didn't know a great deal about them and just knew all the main hits. Over the past few months I have really got into The Beatles in a big way. I have listened (many times) to every single tune they ever wrote/recorded and have studied what each song was about, where it was written etc etc. I thought it would be cool to go through their studio albums and discuss each single and the album as a whole and see if we can decide on what was their best work and come up with a ranking list of their albums best to worst
Here is a list of their studio Albums - (Magical Mystery Tour and Yellow Submarine both contain songs from other albums, but also have some originals, so whilst I don't consider them 'Studio Albums; I have included them)
Please Please Me
With The Beatles
A Hard day's night
Beatles for Sale
Help
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt Pepper
Magical Mystery Tour
The Beatles (White Album)
Yellow Submarine
Abbey Road
Let It Be
So if anybody is up for it, let's start with their first album - Please Please Me released in March 1963
Track Listing:
- I Saw Her Standing There
- Misery
- Anna (Go To Him)
- Chains
- Boys
- Ask Me Why
- Please Please Me
- Love Me Do
- PS I Love You
- Baby It's You
- Do You Want To Know A Secret
- A Taste Of Honey
- There's A Place
- Twist And Shout

Lol
Agreed Twist and Shout is one of Lennon's best vocals!
Re: Calling All Beatles Fans - Saddo Boxing Beatles Discussion Thread!!
Be that as it may, Twist & Shout by The Isley Brothers was far better.
My favorite Beatles song right now

I am not a huge beatles fan but I've always liked Obladi Oblada and Back in USSR. Yep, the white album was truly a good one.

Not a fan of Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da tbh mate, but I suppose it deserved a place on the album. That Album had 30 songs, some of which were truly awful. Should've condensed it down to a smaller, better quality album

Not the better album overall but it does contain some damn good tracks, I really like Back in USSR too (among other things), perhaps because it sounds slightly more punk or something. Then again, I am not a huge beatles fan so not the most well placed person to judge what is their best album. From what I've heard, Sgt Pepper is quite high in the bunch on that matter.

It's all about opinions though mate, who's to say what is their best album, it's all about what you like. Beatles for sale is widely regarded as thewir weakest work (even by them) but I think it's a really good album :-\
