David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
I though he honestly did great against Ruiz, and might have gotten him out of there quicker than either Klitschko brother potentially, but I noticed with him that he is way too wide open for the jab. For all his speed he gets really lazy in there defensively. I always thought the think that separated him from guys like Eddie Chambers who may have even quicker hands is the fact that Haye has much better overall speed and athleticism, but he seemed pretty flat footed to me, and I can't see him being able to get away from Wlad's jab which is way faster than Ruiz's both because of handspeed and footspeed, and Haye leaps in from so far away I don't see Wladimir being caught by such dramatic punches. I think Haye is great for the sport, but I know he's mentioned that he doesn't run, and maybe he needs to in order to increase his mobility in the ring, because if Ruiz and Valuev can catch him quite a few times with relatively weak, slow jabs then Wladimir is going to punish him as long as he wants to with that jab which will dictate the whole fight.
I don't even need to mention Vitali, though in this case I think Wlad is the bigger challenge for Haye despite his chin.
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
I think that the possibility exists, however small, that Haye may just be able to match the feats of mighty golfer Corrie Sanders and all time great heavyweight Ross "The Boss" Purrity and spark one of those laboratory creations. I think you've got to leave the possibility open.
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
I give haye a pretty decent shot at beating either of the brothers. I think his speed, movement and power gives them fits
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
Haye himself know that, exactly why he isn't fighting either of them.
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
agreed
I adore david haye, just about the most patriotic fighter we have had in years and has revitalised boxing in britain
The boxing man in me wants to see haye-klitschko finally go down, the boxing fan who loves seeing the sport in the news at home wouldnt actually mind if he gave valuev a more conclusive thrashing next time around
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
I know, can you believe it?!?! over 24 hours since his last fight and still no Kilitscho fight confirmed... :vd: Why isn't he fighting them yet!?!?!?1111!

Haye has to fight Valuev and I am sure demanded a Ruiz rematch (win or lose)..so he has at least two more fights as a champ........
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
i think if it's ridiculous to compare the Haye that lost to Thompson to the Haye of today, well it should be equally ridiculous to compare the Wlad that lost to Sanders and Purity to the Wlad of today, that said, Vitali completely overwhelms Haye and Wlad keeps him at bay with his jabs and batters him with the straight right
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
I know I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I think he has a chance against Vitali. Wlad would ruin him though.

60-70% of the great fighters today have had a slip up early on in their career, you simply cant compare the novice of yesteryear to the finished article today

\Agreed on both counts
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
Ruiz looked a lot slower than when he fought Chagaev and it wasnt that Haye was too quick either, Ruiz has slowed.
Haye has never had good footwork or defence, he has quick hands and decent power but even at the relatively slow pace they fought at, Haye was still blowing hard and could only fight in spurts. Ruiz could have seen the fight out easy and wasnt even hurt when his corner gave up.
Any heavyweight that isnt slow and has a decent defence will beat Haye.
Vitali has slowed down and Wladamir is too hesitant, maybe Haye does have a chance against them but I find it very hard to see him lasting the distance with either.
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
Vitali stops him early imo
Wlad should also stop him, but IF Haye connects, I deffo see Wlad going down.

And even then, Purity won because K got his shoulder badly injured toward the end of the fight otherwise he was leading greatly on point on every 3 cards... Plus let's consider the fact that the K were promoting the card and that he was helping the staff to build the ring etc just before the match. I think we can give Haye a slight chance varying from slim to none but there is a wee percentage that it might happen somewhere somehow but All my money will be on the Ukrainian side would this fight happen.
Re: David Haye won't beat either Klitschko
I completely disagree with almost every post in this thread.
Personally I think Haye beats the pair of them. I really dont see either Klit being anything special at all. I think Vitali is the harder fight due to he fact he has a granite chin. I remember 'that' uppercut Lewis landed would have taken out pretty much any heavyweight, but Vitali took it without barely blinking. I really believe Haye has the footwork and speed to make the very ponderous Vitali look silly, I really do.
As for Wlad, well this guy is just one-punch from Haye away from being put to sleep. I have never rated Wlad's chin, and someone with Haye's speed, angles and power should be enough to take Wald out with ease. I was very impressed with Haye's dismantling of Ruiz, it was cold and calculated. He didnt take risks because he didnt need to. He didnt need to go looking for the knockout, because with his type of speed and power, it's always going to come. My one concern was Haye's low right hand, but if the 4 week lack of sparring is correct as Adam stated, there is plenty of time to work on that.
I dont understand where this idea that either Klit's are unbeatable. I havent been very impressed with either of them to be honest. Vitali looked his best against an out of shape Lewis, and that was ages ago. Both of them for me are far too robotic. I think Wlad is techically the better boxer, but Vitali has the whiskers. Haye beats both for me. He knocks out Wlad, then he outboxes Vitali over the distance. I personally think that Haye's footwork and upperbody movement is seriously under-rated. This is a guy that doesnt just have fast hands, he has fast everything. And in a division as cumbersome as the current heavyweight elites, he has a great chance.
Just my 2 cents.
