LMAO!!! Margacheato vs Garcia PPV numbers

This little tidbit appeared in Dan Rafael's blog today about Sergio Martinez.


• Margarito's reputation may be permanently damaged, even in the eyes of typically loyal Hispanic fight fans, if his recent pay-per-view numbers are any indication. They didn't show much interest in his May 8 ring return against Robert Garcia, which followed a 16-month layoff after his license revocation for trying to wear loaded gloves. I was told by somebody who would know that the Top Rank "Latin Fury" card Margarito headlined did around 12,000 to 15,000 buys, which is pathetic, even when you consider it wasn't on the primary pay-per-view channel that night because of a UFC event.


I'm surprised that it even got that many buys. :lolhaha: :lolhaha: :lolhaha:

No wonder Arum started mentioning a rematch between Cotto and Pac (if the Mayweather fight doesn't happen), after Cotto's win. Especially since HBO just announced that Cotto/Foreman had the highest rating for HBO so far in 2010, with 1.9 million viewers.

That many people paid to watch Margarito? That's outrageous. He should have been paying the fans to watch him in this one.

i was one of those 12-15K who paid for the PPV event and let me tell you, it was well worth it. not only was margarito entertaining, the undercard was good as well.

don't know about you but i wouldn't be openly admitting that i was one of the 12-15K retards that supported a cheat and further tarnished the reputation of this great sport

why? i happen to be a fan of antonio margarito and i'm not ashamed to say it. hey, he served his time and it's only a matter of time before he gets to fight in the united states again. besides, the undercard was very good. i also wanted to see if margarito had anything left and i was pleasantly surprised that he's vastly improved.

i saw the fight and only thing he did was tighten his defense just barely, he's still the guy that got his ass whooped when he finally didn't have the bricks in his gloves, sorry i don't support any cheater like Margarito, he's just another Luis Resto, can go broke and get beat to a pulp for all i care, the day Margarito fights in the US again, is the day that boxing loses all credibility

He should never fight again, nowhere, period. I am utterly please to see that this greedy cheater who tried to assault somebody got the poorest numbers ever, he gets what he deserves, nothing less.
