But at this stage the hatred of the French is gone beyond irrational;
a) Ireland were not in the lead, had Henry not "scored" Ireland would still not have won.
b) I defy any Irish player to honestly say they wouldn't have done precisely the same thing for World cup qualification.
c) Diego Maradonna is revered internationally for a similar feat.
But in saying that I had elected to support Mexico before the Cup ;):)
I was supporting Mexico. Mainly due to the hilarious 'hhhhhhhhwwwan Shit' advert for Plenty kitchen towels thats on TV at the moment ;D
Also due to Ribberry's face offending me.
I would support ANYONE over that cheating bastard Henry. Its true ireland werent qualified before the handball but neither were the french! Truth be told, ireland shoulda had the game wrapped up beforehand only for Duff to miss when through v the keeper. But it aint gonna stop my disgust at them cheating bastards. I've seen a lot posts from some of the english lads (on different forums and such) more or less saying to get over it and shit. Thats easy to say but can you imagine the outcry if it had happened to the england team?
Irish normally have T shirts that say we support Ireland and any team that plays against England, this year I have seen T shirts that say we support any team that plays against France including England. :)
I base my support on whoever has the best looking team. :D
