Wednesday night fights ESPN

Shame on me as this one is happening in my own backyard up in Monroe La. and only now realize it's being aired on ESPN tonight :-X begins at 7 pm. Tempted to jump in the car but no way of making 230 + miles. Looks like a textbook 'showcase' card for a couple of highly touted / highly exposed Cuban amatuer stars. No way this one runs 2 hrs and probally dubbed "special event". Cough.

Erislandry Lara 12-0 (7) will exercise vs. Willie Lee 17-6 (11) middles and Yordanis Despaigne 6-0 (4) goes against undefeated Frank paines 11-0 (10) lt. Hvys

Good thing the ticket center had accurate information !?...its a 9 pm start :bucktooth: Little leauge softball world series just ended late........hope that does not result in real late start for card :vd:

Lots of studio talk as they are only airing the two matches. Margarito talk and upcoming Manny fight and how he was turned down for license in CA. today.
Lara has the percieved "tougher" challenger as Lee has some losses but has faced some names...being tko'd by all. Dawson,Vanes,Seche Powell,Mack and has so so wins over faded Alex Bunema for NABF belt and beat Jason Papillion who in another lifetime had some ok skills..........that is main event it turns out.

First up Is Despaigne facing "undefeated" Frank Paines,love the irony of name. Hey he's Columbian for what that's worth but has faced ONE fighter with winning record. Who was 17-13-1.......6 opponents had zero wins

Despaigne respectful if anything in first round? Get the feeling hes about to shift gears as he was just touching staitionary Paines. Paines is tiny compared and went low a couple of times....smell a matter of time unless this .....nevermind:p

Paines getting tatted in 2nd...dropped hard and hit a few big left hooks in one sided round. Hes not doing much and this is a case of numbers being totally misleading.....undefeated records can be earned OR completely manufactured. Beginning of 3rd here...

More winging hooks from Paines and Despaigne seems to be looking to counter more,straight shots...eats a couple clean jabs off Paines. Hmm. He seems a bit bored

Wow. Huge cut on Despaigne after a clash of heads. Left eye and to the side. Dr checks it and continues...Paines coming forward now this will be stopped in corner between rounds and to cards...pretty sure. They know hes in total control and Paine is def energized now.

Shit. Im a cynic...they go on as they 'should' and into the 6th. Nice! Adversity comes in all forms and good to see young guys get busted up and made to cope throughout...hes moving more,picking spots.

The WBC logos are falling off both these guys trunks...;D.... Despaigne pulling Paine into sweeping one and done shots...then moves out. Paines winging but a straight fluid puncher would ruin this guy.Into the 8th here

I'm stoked to see Lara again. He's a future P4P fighter. I've been impressed ever since I first saw him, which was in his 4th fight I think.

10th round and all one way traffic. Paines is High school prom padded as far as record/ko ratio but he is a survivor and sturdy. Despaigne for what its worth adjusted midway after cut but could have done much more I believe...seemed to 'settle' even to the point of clowing and landing a couple of slap punches with right and left at same time. Good movement and sharp straight shots but did not sustain much of a hurtful offense. One judge had it 96-93 :p other two had it complete shut out and more.........stag party here tonight I see ;D

Ehh not so much. I did however manage to repair my huge blender and finish my timesheets for week.......thats is one bad picture of Pascal. Bet Teddy rips Dawson a new one ;D
