I hope it's just a farewell fight, but we've all been hoping that for a long time now.

What is the point. He's a legend in the sport what can he do? Nothing. Beating this guy and going on to fight someone more elite he's just going to get beat again and the beatings will just get worse. Give it up Roy, think of your health and legacy.

Yeah me too...I think he should just hang up the gloves already, but I don't mind him leaving on a win.

Being a huge Roy Jones Jr. fan I sincerely hope so as well.
Roy seems to open up and let his hands go against lesser opponents or what he feels are lesser opponents like Lacy, Sheika etc.
Lets hope he THROWS SOME FUCKING PUNCHES agianst this guy, and maybe even gets him outta there.
Then RETIRES.
Re: Roy Jones Jr making a comeback, say it ain't so
Two things...
1. He'll keep fightin if he wins this one and challenge bigger name for bigger dough.
2. Farewell fight if he loses.

Beat me to it, though I was going to use a different picture :p.
Re: Roy Jones Jr making a comeback, say it ain't so
He wants to go out on a win I think, which is fair enough. It's just a question of will he stop at that?
Re: Roy Jones Jr making a comeback, say it ain't so
Wow I just cant get my head round RJJ needing money?? How much has this guy made in his career and where the fuck has it gone?
You have to laugh RJJ has gone from one of the most reluctant fighters to travel and take dangerous fighters on to now basically fighting anyone anytime anyplace, I can see him fighting some Mongolian midget in Dubai for some Sultans 60th Birthday in the near future.

I remember reading somewhere that he blew it on bad investments like his record label.
Hey at least the fans will always have this.

Why can't HBO rehire him and take Lennox' position?

Reading this is like looking through a window into Floyd Mayweather Jr's future.

They should, though I doubt that position pays all that well (relatively speaking). Jones was outstanding when he came back to comment on a recent fight. I can't remember who was fighting at the time though.
