David Haye's mouth basically got him his heavyweight world title shot or shots including Wlad fight that fell through with a few week to go.
Re: talking yourself into a fight
Ricardo Mayorga in pretty much every fight he ever had
Re: talking yourself into a fight
Pacquiao againts Barrera I
Tarver againts RJJ
Re: talking yourself into a fight
Telling your father to shut up is a great way to talk yourself into a fight.
But aside from the best known Ali vs Liston
I say there is a greater example
Jack Johnson against Tommy Burns. Johnson had talked it all up even back when Jim Jeffries was champion was challenging him the same way.
Jack Johnson basically talked his way to a world heavyweight title match and became the first black person to win it.

Haye talked his way into the shot with the beast Valuev too.
Chisora hasn't done bad. ;)
Hatton managed it, definatley to get the Pac.
Naz did it a lot.
.............All got found out in the end.
you could say that about every fighter in the world thats ever been
with a few exceptions mind, rocky, joe, floyd, probly 1 or 2 others

You can say it more about the ones that talked better than they boxed ;)

This is surely the best example, Johnson chased Burns around the world until he agreed to fight him. Without putting such pressure on Burns to fight him he would never have been given the opportunity.

I'd agree with that, Hatton talked up his fights with Mayweather and Pac, but I wouldn't say he was found out, there's no shame losing to the best 2 fighters on the planet.

Yeah, the end result on papaer against Mayweather wasnt good but he did put Mayweather under more pressure that anyone else has managed to do.
