Here's how I see it...

Been meaning to post this for some time now so here it is....

Right now at this point with realistic possibilities I think theres only 2 boxers who have genuinely a real shot at beating Pac.

PBF @ 154 or 147... I just think the skill set he carries is far and between vs. the rest of the P4P fighters. I see Pac wining the early rounds 1, 2 possibly 3. But from the 4 and on I see PBF doing what he does best and adjusting. However if PBF starts/turns it on later than the 5th I think Pac will concsiously know this and wont let off and will walk away with the win.

Sergio @ 154... The better part of me thinks Pac would be biting off a little more then wath he can chew. A more mobile just as fast possibly stronger guy in front of him? ? ?
But then I think of SRR being on the brink of beating Maxim and then I think anythings possible.

JMM @ 140 or 135 has a decent/good shot. If the fight happens at either one of those 2 weight classes he's got a good shot at wining. Because they would be evenly matched no advantages to either one. If JMM moves up in weight past 140 its stupid and he'd flat out lose. Either way to be honest I'd back him and would cheer for him at any weight class but my prediction would be Pac TKO if the 3rd fight happens. All Pac has to do is drop him and after that I'm certain Pac wont make the same mistake he has done 4 times now after dropping him which is not TKO'ing him and let's face it JMM is not getting any younger so I think Pac would storm on him and would not let him recuperate this time around.

I know there's Berto, SSM and Bradley but I really don't think either one of those stand a chance. Berto is still too green I mean when your still fighting guys like Freddy Hernandez you can't just go from that to Pac.
SSM to me is done and I'm not saying that in a negative way I'm just saying I think his career has come to an end. I think Pac overwhelms him and gets the TKO.
Bradley I have to think this one out more but just going through it I think the fight vs. Alexander will tell us a lot about him. Because we know he can beat fighters that come forward/box but can he beat someone with really good hand speed and footwork?

Mick, I been thinking about the fight with JMM.

Would it really matter which division they fought at? I mean if they fought at 147, JMM can weigh in at 135 if he wanted and Pac would weigh in maybe at 144 but by fight night both guys would weigh in at 148.

JMM vs Pacman should go back to the old days and have same day weight in

Berto is fast enough and strong enough to fight Pacman now. Of course, he can use more ring experience. But nonetheless, Berto handspeed is just as quick if not quicker then Pacman. Footwork and foot speed, the advantage goes to Pacman. Berto is not an all out pressure fighter. He can counter and counter effectively. With power!!! Berto will be a good fight for Pacman.

Bradley? I'm favoring Alexander to win their showdown. But if Bradley to win that fight, he still might not be ready for Pacman. Alexander is a different kind of fighter then Pacman. And every since Holt hurt Bradley, I never thought he will last this long as a champion. And Pacman power is quicker then Holt.

No one has mention Alexander as an opponent for Pacman. He has reach and a solid jab. Good countering. And good power. He hit Urango harder then Berto did!!! Think about that!!!

Mosley? IMO, going to beat Pacman. I'm flying to Vegas to place a bet on that fight. Mosley got beat by the best boxer in the world. No shame in that. His fight against Mora was a track race and a holding fest. Plus Mora was a lot bigger then Mosley.

I would add Paul Williams in to that mix too. I think he would be a very very awkward style matchup for Manny. It shouldn't happen though with Williams coming off a KO loss. That is too much risk for not enough reward.

Manny does not have the one punch power that Martinez has and isn't Ko'ing Willimas with one shot. And I think Williams was looking good against Martinez until he got caught, I think I had him ahead in the fight although obviously it was very early days.

But Floyd, Martinez and Williams are tough tough fights. I'm not sure I'd pick Manny over any of them, I think they are almost 50/50 fights or 55/45 in favour of the other guys.

I would actually love to see him face Bradley or Berto too. Both young, unbeaten world champs, they could happen at 147 with no catchweight necessary and the objection that he only fights old faded fighters would be wiped out.

Marquez for me is the least appealing prospect simply because we have already seen it twice before. I like to see something new.

And Marquez should concentrate on cleaning up at 135 and then maybe 140 imo. He has plenty to do down there and guys like Alexander, Ortiz, Khan etc are all great matchups for him.

Handspeed alone won't get you a W vs Pac. Berto is a small welterweight and I think he's primed to go up vs a big welterweight and get bullied into submission. There was talk of a fight vs Cotto some time ago and I just don't see Andre handling that kind of fighter all that well, it would be Cotto-Judah all over again.

As for Paul Williams, he just got sparked out cold...I don't think he'll ever be the same psychologically or physically in the ring. If you get 1 concussion the next is easier, and the one after that even easier...he could turn into a very chinny fighter because of that KO.

Are you from the Lou'? Devon and Pacquiao? If Kotelnik gave Devon problems, Devon shouldn't be anywhere near a ring with Pacquiao. Even Bradley will do a number on Devon. Devon did great against a come-forward fighter with limited boxing skills in Urango. But, when he fought a better boxer in Kotelnik, he was beat. He only escaped with a win because it was in St. Louis. Floyd Mayweather after that fight said Kotelnik won - and, Floyd was there to support Alexander. That should tell you a lot.

I don't mean to hate on Devon, I think he has a good career ahead of him. Although I want to see the fight, I actually think he should have waited to fight Bradley until later in his career. He's what, 24?

It's no shame that Bradley was hurt by Kendal Holt. I thought it was impressive that he got up from the knockdown and then outboxed Holt for the next 10 rounds. Bradley then beat Nate Campbell, Lamont Peterson, and Abregu at 147.

I love all the love for PAC in this thread but are you guys just so underestimating Berto:-\

el kabong, i think berto weighed 160 lbs vs hernandez at fight night i think that's a pretty good sized welter considering his speed/power. this kid is scary imo.

Mick, I completely agree with your post. I'm a Bradley fan though, so, I'll say that he'll beat Devon Alexander, but he'd lose to Pacquiao.

135, 140, 147, 154 or whatever.

Manny shows up at 148-150.

Beat the shit out of them.

He's short he's fought crap opponents and he's got a dodgey chin. You seriously think there's someone not named Floyd Mayweather Jr. that will have quicker hands than Manny AND be able to hurt him?

I see Pac beating them all except Sergio.

Reminds me of Roy Jones. It was quite a shock when he lost his first fight by KO. After that, his chin got exposed and look what happened in his other loses.

That and the guy will just have a mental problem accepting a punch from now on...he'll get clipped, he'll panic, the adrenaline will start pumping, and when he gets to the fight or flight reaction, his body is just going to give up on him and the next thing you know he'll be covering up, trying to run away, or trying to tie up his opponent.

The loss will have a big affect on Paul because he had taken pride in his chin for many years, he had bragged about sparring with Glenn Johnson et al and taking their best shots....now in my opinion he'll have to overhaul his entire fighting style because he's not going to like getting hit anymore (not that he was thrilled about it to begin with, but he accepted it well).

Of course, then again he could recover just fine from this, but I really don't see that happening
