Michael Grant vs. Tye Fields
This fight was just brought to my attention in another thread, so I looked it up on boxrec and sure enough its going down.
I honestly think this is an EASY win for Grant. Fields is the worst heavyweight I have ever seen with a 45-1 record or whatever he's got.
Monte Barret blaseted Fields out in 1 round, and I expect Grant to do the same.
Grant looked good against Adamek and could make some noise in the division.
Thoughts ? Anyone picking Fields ?

I agree and actually this fight has caught my interest.
Re: Michael Grant vs. Tye Fields
Hey...why not :dontknow:
I think if huge Fields goes bullrush and aims all head in first two round he might actually hurt Grant badly.....after that though he gases, huffs and puffs and the ceiling comes crashing down on him via tko.
Grant isn't what he was and even that was never fully realized. His boxing skill 101 may be faded but its far more then Fields ever had in the first place.

Grant could have some interesting opportunities if he was to win this fight in a dominant fashion.
He had best stay away from Aerrola. IMO

I tend to agree with that sentiment. Arreola could very well KO Grant if he hit him, and he would hit him.
I honestly think that its a foregone conclusion that Grant WILL beat Fields, I mean Tye Fields is absolutely HORRIBLE.
Re: Michael Grant vs. Tye Fields
It says a lot about the heavyweight division's current state that a nearly forty year old old 6. ft 7 in heavyweight can lose to a little cruiserweight and be seen as a potential title contender :-\

Look at Andrew Golota, perfect example. He went from mentally unstable contender, to KO victim, to quitter, to joke, to contender, and IMO he beat both John Ruiz and Chris Byrd.
Well said my Klit loving arch nemesis...
Golota is a great example.
Re: Michael Grant vs. Tye Fields
I guess I'll be the guy to take Fields. I'll either look smart or dumb as hell ;D I'll say this...Grant's best chance is in the first 2-3 rounds (both of Tye's losses were when he got caught cold in the 1st) if he allows Fields (who has terrific stamina for a 6'8" 270lb guy) to get into a rhythm he could be in some trouble.
What's the over/under on this fight?
Re: Michael Grant vs. Tye Fields
i long ago gave up any faith in grant being any kind of vable heavywight contender. this is 1 of those guys who jsut never cut the msutard man. never cut the mustard. there's hotdogs, there's hamburgers and there's mustard. and this guy never cut the frikking mustard, i dont care what anybody says. he's 1 of the many disappointments in the heavyweight divisoion, wouldntya say mates? just drank a few pints rapidly and feeling rather dodgy, or foggy maybe, misty????
Re: Michael Grant vs. Tye Fields
I have seen Fields fight numerous times. Every fight he seems to improve. His stamina is unbelievable. The loss to Barrett showed that one mistake can cost you a fight, and dropping his right was a monumental mistake. This will be an evenly matched fight. But Grant has never been body punched by anyone like Fields and I think that will be the deciding factor in this fight. I predict Fields will wear Grant down by the 5th-6th round.
