Cotto questions: ANSWERED
I know Ross won't be in here for awhile and probably won't see this post. But here's some tidbits from the weeks leading up to the fight last night:

Answer: Neither. The Cotto that beat the shit out of your man last night, who BTW was the one who quit.

Moral of the story: Don't always go by appearances in training. Like Bruce Lee told "scarface" before he mopped the floor with him on "Enter the Dragon": "Boards don't hit back." And speaking of trains... it was Mayorga who got run over by the "Cotto train" last night. Go figure.

Dont worry;)
Oh but I do worry. A couple of token posts after the fight, and we probably won't see your sorry ass in here for a couple of weeks, by which time you'll have forgotten all about last night, and be thinking of new reasons to hate on Cotto.
;)

Apparently he has and No he wont have any plan other than throw hard and fast;D
Cotto couldnt keep out of plodding Margaritos way:cool:
And yet he had more than enough movement to steer clear of Mayorga's headlong rushes. Go figure.

Exactly! Its absurd to suddenly think, anyone with a cut face from punch must have been facing someone with loaded wraps. Its just people trying to find an excuse for Cotto getting battered.
Vitali got cut earlier than Cotto did too. It was mainly down to Cottos shite defence and the fact that if hes not the stronger man hes fuucked!
Im looking forward to the excuses and backtracking when cotto loses again;D
And I'm looking forward to you coming in here and owning up to your misguided hatred and admit you were wrong. But I'm probably expecting too much out of you.
Oh, and BTW... "and the fact that if he's (Cotto) not the stronger man he's fucked".... Just another of your "pronouncements" where you've been dead wrong. Not so much the authority now, eh sport?

Neither of those 2 were capable of bullying Cotto and neither is a puncher. They were picked for Cotto so he doesnt crumble mentally again. Arum is trying to squeeze money out of him and I reckon if he didnt have Margarito and Pacquiao lined up for him that he would probably have retired by now, or still be enjoying the time off before making an unsuccessfull comeback.
Cottos heart isnt in this any more, at least not when he gets in a real fight again.
Again, you have this bug up your ass about Cotto's supposed lack of mental fortitude. You make these broad statements and anybody would think you know what the hell you're talking about, when actually you're as ignorant a HATER as they come. What about Cotto's mental fortitude now, asswipe?

Mayorga lost those fights because of lack of preparation, he was inactive for long periods before hand and still had to be litterally nailed down before he would stop fighting. Cotto doesnt have the fire power or mental fortitude to weather any storm and come back at this point and against someone so much stronger than him. My opinion is that Cotto will be like Tyson against Holyfield, or Williams. Hes there for the money and doesnt have the strong will to win any more for anyone that can take his shots and fire back.
Also, iv read a few times now that Steward wants Cotto jabbing and moving. I just feel that is playing in to Mayorgas hands even more. Cotto needs to be in his face up close, to take away the space Mayorga likes to swing. Not backing up and encouraging Mayorga to get in to a rythm.
Again... "Cotto will cave when pressure by the stronger man"... "Cotto doesn't have the mental fortitude".... "Cotto's only in it for the money".... "Cotto is ugly and I don't like him"... "Cotto reminds me of a bully who gave me a wedgie in elementary school"..... blah, blah, blah.
I could go on all day, but you get the point. (Or at least you would if you were man enough to own up to your misguided hatred). And don't even get me started on you wishing that Cotto's shoulder surgery was bothering him in the ring... 'cause that borders on emotional retardation.
Have a nice day.

Miguel Cotto is the epitomy of balanced power and skills but vulnerable to keep things exciting. Cotto is a very classy and humble fighter, I'm proud to say I'm a big fan:)
Re: Cotto questions: ANSWERED
Agreed who should he fight next?
Re: Cotto questions: ANSWERED
I'd hate to give Margacheato the opportunity for another payday, but Cotto avenging his loss to the cheater would rate highly in my book.

That's how I feel too, I want REVENGE but I don't want Cheato to use Cotto's name to make money and it's still a dangerous fight honestly. Cheato is a full blown Junior Middle compared to a stocky welter in Cotto.

Margarito does not deserve the fight. The guy gets stomped by Mosley in a fight where he attempted to load his gloves and then gets a huge pay day with Pacquiao where he is stomped again. He isn't even ranked in the top ten at 154. He doesn't deserve Cotto in any way, shape or form.
Meanwhile there are so many great fights at 154. Dzinziruk, Angulo, Kirkland, Cintron, Martirosyan. He doesn't need to fight Margarito. Any of those guys are better.

I remember somebody saying before Miguel is a "Tweener" a big junior welter but outsized by welters like Tony, Kermit and Paul Williams. Junior middleweight his body looks perfect but being 5'7 he won't have the leverage in his punches there. I love the guy(not in a gay way) but we must be realistic here;)

The reason he moved up in weight to 154 is because he was having trouble making 147. If he's going to be a junior middleweight, be a junior middleweight.

I did not know that, maybe he is a lil endomorphic (carries more bodyfat) but he does not look like it. I got your point I'm just protecting one of my favorite fighters:)

Cotto has been in with very tough competition and he's always entertaining. I'm a fan too. Don't get me wrong.

His battles to make 140 were well-publicized. He looked weight-drained and lacked energy. But 147 is another story. His body is better suited for 147 than 154, mostly because of the height. He may have said at some point he had trouble making 147, but I insist that's his best weight.
