If David Haye loses to Vitali in July...
(I am 99% certain that Wladimir will still say he has an abdominal injury and can't be fit in time for the fight) will he still retire in October?
It dawned on me this morning whilst reading about the fights. He seems certain he will unify the division and go out at the top but what happens if Vitali smashes him to bits (which I am convinced he does) - then he has no hope of becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and would end up as 'just another ABC belt holder'. Would he retire or demand a rematch with Vitali? ;D

He'd retire and go into acting (porn) with Robin Reid.

Win, lose or draw, David Haye ain't going to retire in October IMHO.
There's too mcuh money for Haye to be made right now, for him to walk away, especially as he hasn't even cemented his legacy yet.
All this retirement talk is just a ruse I believe.

Do you...do you really?
In all honesty Wlad should already have the WBA belt because he beat Chagaev...but it doesn't matter, Wlad will beat the usurper of that title like he stole something (which actually a case can be made for). Enjoy it while it lasts

i don't like these reactions from Wladimir. Let's hope its just his love for his big brother.

Wlad will fight him why are ya'll so caught up in this idea that he won't? Has Wlad ever shied away from a fight? People could bring up Sanders in a rematch but those are different circumstances. Wlad took Chagaev on short notice and whipped his ass.

Chagaev is a total different fighter than haye
he is scared of the power, its unfortunate but it seems to be the case
from all the pussy footing around in making the fight, with all the demands where he was almost trying to push haye to withdraw
now he has said he might not fight because of an injury? surely in this day and age with the money they have a doctor would be able to tell whether or not he will have any chance of recovery, and when he can start training again and that sort of thing
how many fighters have an injury, sign for a fight and then say but have an injury so i might not be able to fight
hes bottled it
haye will fight vitali

Or sign for a fight, then suffer a heartbreaking shadowboxing injury and have to withdraw from the fight, after clamoring for it publicly?
Re: If David Haye loses to Vitali in July...
IMO Haye has a better shot at Vitali, who is slower and more likely to mix it up with Haye.
We'll know by the end of April what's what. I hear rumors Vitali is looking for a June opponent.

Yes Chagaev is totally different that's part of what makes Wlad beating him (after having trained for someone different) so impressive.
Being scared of power is a foolish claim to make, Wlad fought Sam Peter, he's got power, Lamon Brewster had power, there are others he has fought that have power. I mean who has he avoided because of power? NOBODY.
What demands? Demanding to be introduced second seeing how Wlad is THE heavyweight champion of the world? Fighting in Germany because a certain somebody couldn't secure a proper venue the first fucking time? These allegations of "crazy demands" are the WBA title holder's issue not Wlad's...Wlad signed to fight with this guy before who backed out then? NEWSFLASH it wasn't Wlad.
Who said he might not fight? Wlad didn't say it...there may have been a clause in the contract that states "if Wlad isn't healed for the June or July fight date then there's an option for the WBA title holder to fight Vitali" but believe me, Wlad wants the fight he called the guy out after beating Chagaev, after beating Eddie Chambers...Wlad wants the fight no doubt about it.
