That was very hard to watch....
He needs to think about his health and his family now and get out before he's permanently hurt. It's sad to watch
I just got up and didn't see the fight. Pretty amazed it took Lebedev ten rounds to stop Roy.
From reading the posts on the fight it sounded pretty bad though.
9 rounds 2 minutes 45 seconds.....
Personally I had it 87-84 Lebedev going into the final round. Lebedev won 5 rounds clearly, and Jones won 1 clearly the other 3 rounds were close enough to give to whomever smelled nicer.
RJJ showed if he still had his youth, he would have mopped the floor. He was even able to rock Lebedev once with a beautiful right hook, left hook combo. This is dangerous, because in RJJ's eyes he still felt competitive, which means he's going to search for that career close victory. Honestly if Leb would have pressed more early it would have ended early.

Looking at it again, Smoger was a bit slow to react there he was out on his feet and took a good handful of big shots which he should not have.
it honestly brings tears to my eyes
That last punch seemed unnecessary.
The most harmful thing that came of that is that he went rounds and saw ghosts of what he once was. He'll sell his legacy and name again to some other individual who wouldn't be fit to park his car in his prime...and again he'll take punches and get damaged.
Sorry folks but it's a slow motion train wreck and gotta refuse to think anything positive about his showing. It's fooking sad man!
Roy will fight again. He just likes to do it!
completely agree, IMO it was a classless move by Lebedev
it only takes one punch to permanently end a man's life or to leave him like McClellan is today, Smoger was already stepping between the two when he chose to let another one loose and it was more than clear that Jones was out cold
Absolutly. Hardest thing to understand are past 'greats' who have mad hand over fists the mega paydays that other no hopers would KILL to just make one of. Guys who know only the role of "opponent" and go far to long, but have no where near the high profile for fans to call em out. Jones, Holyfield are cursed by fame... terrible investments and a great dose of ego I believe.
The way Jones is reacting to punches is ever lasting, looks like Vivian Harris. No excuse for it.
