FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Tonight at the Frank Erwin center in Austin, TX on ESPN2
Hot prospect Fernando Guerrero from MD fights against the 2006 Contender Champion Grady Brewer. Brewer hasn't really got any traction from his Contender Championship save a shallacking from the hands of Erislandy Lara. Guerrero on the other hand has been chewing up and spitting out competition and although he struggled to get anything put together against the king of boring Ishe Smith he still walked away with the W. 154 lb. limit Guerrero 152.75 lbs. / Brewer 153.75 lbs.
Some low fashion belt is on the line.
The 2006 Contender runner-up Steve 2 lbs. Forbes looks to put his low impact high movement skill on display against unbeaten, untested and unconvincing Karim Mayfield. 147 lb. limit Mayfield 146.5 lbs / Forbes 149 lbs. ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
State Farm Arena Hidalgo, TX on telefutura
23 year Gary Russell Jr. continues on against a line of off form and declining fighters when he steps in against Antonio Meza. 130 lb. limit Russell Jr. 126.75 lbs. / Mesa 127.25 lbs
21 year old Omar Figueroa tries to find some identity against power punching perpetual stepping stone 23 year old Eric Cruz (Puerto Rico). 140 lb. limit Figueroa 135.75 lbs. / Cruz 135.25 lbs.
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Yo Sheep, I see you've got the FNF thread up this week, nice to see you're doing your job. j/k bro ;)
June 17
At Austin, Texas (ESPN2): Fernando Guerrero vs. Grady Brewer, 10 rounds, junior middleweights; Karim Mayfield vs. Steve Forbes, 10 rounds, welterweights; Gilbert Vera vs. Calvin Pitts, 6 rounds, welterweights.
So Teddy will be in my neck of the woods, in Austin, Texas, I feel blessed. :)
Fernando Guerrero is the real deal, aside from Saul Alvarez, he's one of the best up and coming Jr. Middleweights, and he's gonna made some noise at the championship level in the near future.
He should make short work of Brewer tonight.

Ha this actually looks better than the telefutura card. I hope Brewer can make this somewhat competitive.
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
First up, Karim Mayfield vs. Steve Forbes, 10 rounds, you might remember Forbes giving De La Hoya a decent fight a few years ago, but for the most part Forbes ain't done much lately, losing 6 out of his last 10 fights.
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Dude? Nice suit :-X Looks more like Andre 3000 than a fighter. I think Jonathon (I don't call Wrastlin' matches no mo) Coahman is taking over for Brian kenny...
Well at least sitting in his chair from now on

Brewer might, but I kinda doubt it, Guerrero must have left the Dominican Republic when he was a young kid, he just sounds like another american.
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Forbes' main problem is he lacks power.
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Mayfield looks like he can end Forbes.
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Forbes outta Kronk now, fancies himself a banger over last few I guess. This ain't his style-time
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Mayfield looked a little out of sorts that round, deep breathing a bit.
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
My God he is righthand happy, leading all face first sloppy
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
This is an ugly fight. :p
