Frank Bruno speaks out on the great TOE debate !
David Haye's broken toe excuse criticized - Boxing - Yahoo! Sports
Bruno believes Haye should have pulled out of the fight if his toe was indeed broken.
"You can’t punch straight, you can’t balance yourself, you can’t even move. A broken toe’s a serious thing,” the British fighter told BBC.
Re: Frank Bruno speaks out on the great TOE debate !
What a difference one little toe can cause. (not so little after it was broke)
Re: Frank Bruno speaks out on the great TOE debate !
SAME CAN BE SAID FOR A COCK. Its little but if its broke, YOU'RE FUCKED.
Re: Frank Bruno speaks out on the great TOE debate !
Give me a break. Guys have fought with broken hands. Danny Williams dislocated his shoulder in a fight once and managed to knock the other guy out with one good arm and Haye is complaining about a broken little toe?
Re: Frank Bruno speaks out on the great TOE debate !
How do we know he didnt break it by constantly going down on his knees to suck Wlad off?
Haye is now deeply embarrassed with everything he has said for the past few years and his shitty scared performance. Hes just realised hes not as good as Sanders and Brewster and yes beating a retired Ruiz and Audley Harrison mean nothing.
Goback down to cruiser and at least be competative but st ay away from punchers!
Oh, I forgot to mention. I boxed and also used to dig the roads for a living. I had a fucked up little toe from digging in the summer heat for long hours and my toe rubbing on the inside of my boot. It made no difference whatso ever in my punching. When he said it and then offered to prove it I thout we were about to see his big toe all ruined which could make a big difference but it wSnt, it was the little toe that doesnt even touch the floor when driving for a right hand!
The most pathetic thing I heard him say was "im so powerfull" as if to say what a shame I couldnt use it.
Did you hear ali say "im so quick" after the first Frazier fight?
Re: Frank Bruno speaks out on the great TOE debate !
Man that was boring. And people paid to watch this crap?

Look how much flack he's facing for saying he had a broken toe and the flap he gets for it. Had he backed out of the fight this time just 3 weeks before this showdown, he'd be facing even more scrutiny and everyone claiming that a broken toe is no big deal for a boxer that have probably never boxed in their life with a broken toe. But it would spread like wildfire through the media, and on the boxing forums, and any anticipation for the fight would be killed.
It isn't exactly like when Calzaghe kept getting injured before his bout with Lacy and then went in and dominated. Haye already had a sort of reputation because he pulled out of the first fight which had already spread. So if he'd pulled out again, the fight probably never would have happened. Wladimir would have fought Chisora and went on with his life and October would come and Haye would "retire".

Haye should have simply kept his mouth shut about the toe and he would not be catching nearly as much crap now as he is.
Also I believe Bruno is skeptical regarding Haye's toe injury and that is why he said that Haye should have pulled out IF the toe was that bad.
Obviously if Haye had pulled out it would have been a MUCH bigger shit storm and pulling out of the fight was not a realistic option.

Come on!
Haye could have been deducted a point much earlier for the use of his forehead....to low blow!;D
He ended up with his face in Wlads crotch at least once.
Re: Frank Bruno speaks out on the great TOE debate !
Been listening to various interviews from sports people in the past 2 days and they have all said that with a cortisone injection he would not have felt his toe at all and it would not have had any affect. Rafa Nadal played 4 rounds of Wimbledon with a hair line fracture in his heal!
Anyway, I think Haye knows his mistake and has back tracked to soem degree

Reallistically... it was probably none of those things, back in the real world for just a second Lyle. ;)
I'm not really sure I see your point. :)
