Re: What is your pulse rate?
Thats really quite high Miles. Your wifes is a bit high too really although not greatly so. I think mines around 80 which im not particularly happy about. 60 is a pretty good target for a quality fitness level.
My fact of the day is cyclist Miguel Indurain had a rate of 28bpm. It'd be so awesome to have a rate like that.
Re: What is your pulse rate?
53 currently. A couple years ago I had my resting HR at 45. Probably the best shape of my life at that point. Hopefully I can get back to it. And yeah Miles you need some diet and exercise. My HR after running a few miles at a decent pace isn't over 100.
Re: What is your pulse rate?
60.
But that's taken just after I awaken, the best time to take it. I'm not sure a pulse taken in the middle of the day under the stress of being in a hospital should scare you.
Tomorrow when you wake up and before you leave bed take your puls and do that for a week. THEN if it's much over 70ish? That's cause for concern.
I go through the same thing with my BP. When it's first taken? I'm 140/90, not good numbers. But then I get them to take it again at the end of whatever brought me to the doctors and it's 120-70 or close. Stress driven.

My wife has a pulse rate of 84 per minute. Mine is 102! That's bloody high. Now there could be other factors at play here. I mean I drank 3 cups of coffee prior going to the hospital. I gave the middle finger to about 7 drivers who broke traffic laws. And I ate a burger king meal for lunch. Plus I walked to the hospital in 30'C weather. But they even gave me a few minutes to rest and then check again and my pulse was the same.
I think I will keep my pledge to start looking after myself more. No fried food, an hours walk around the lake everyday and a lot more fruit plus my vitamins.
So, I seem to be bordering on a heart attack. My big question of the day is what is your pulse rate?
That is high Miles (you know that of course). When I have had mine checked I can feel my heart start to race, mainly becuase I am incredibly squemish and I start to think of the blood squelching and pumping through my veins which makes me feel light headed and sick and thus appear to have a resting heart rate of somebody in the process of heart failure (about 100 but was as high as 115). However, when I try really hard to stay calm and check it myself I get around 60 bpm.
Re: What is your pulse rate?
I have a very high heartrate due to such a reduced lung capacity. Basically just sitting on my rowing machine will take it about 120 and I'm at 165 after about a minute.
Ive not tested it in a while but at absolute rest I inagine it gets down to about 75 now although that's when Im lying down. As I'm typing it's probably nearly 100 but quite frankly you have made me feel better Miles :)

I get to 165 on a treadmill or rower pretty quickly. Does that mean I'm outrageously unfit? My times and distances indicate I have quite decent fitness but I think my lung capacity and heart rate are terrible. I'm still a smoker though. Sadly.

Hilarious. The thought of you driving around moaning about everything is brilliant. ;D
Re: What is your pulse rate?
my resting heart rate was 40 recently in the hospital. the nurse was freakin, thought it was the morphine drip i was on, like they were giving me too much. I assured her that it typically is 40-50 range and to just keep that morphine coming plz and tyvm. ;D

I just hope he is able to carry out his final killing spree. This week's almost century slaughter means he has his work cut out. Don't like to think his physical health could interfere negatively with his final menatal decline.

Its the smoking. Cut out the cigs and I bet within a week or two your resting hr would be 10-15 bpm lower.

I've had mine climb to over 180 when I'm doing really intense intervals. That can't be healthy.
My heart-rate always seems to get really high when I'm doing strenuous exercise, especially intervals.
Re: What is your pulse rate?
I always thought the point of intervals/circuits was to get a really high HR versus strictly aerobic workouts that you keep a constant HR. I'll have to check my HR this week when I do my next circuit and see what I get up to.
Re: What is your pulse rate?
ya, your HR should be the most it ever is, capable of being when doing HIIT.
