Fighters who got OLD FAST for their age
Didn't Riddick Bowe really suddenly just lose it? What about Ezzard Charles? People like to say he was an OLD 32 when he fought Marciano. I know he had abut 100 pro fights at that point. That's more like battle-worn. How about Joe Frazier? He wasn't around THAT long really, compared to Ali or Holmes or Foreman or Holyfield. Even Tyson fought for about 20 years professionally. Seems Frazier was only around for 8 or so.

Re: Fighters who got OLD FAST for their age
Fernando Vargas aged after brutal fights early in his career.
Terry Norris seemed to age quickly too when he had big fights coming up.

I came on to post Fernando Vargas too - good shout. At least he managed to make a load of cash before he retired.

Dont really agree with Hatton he was around for a long time, before he fought Tszyu. Warren milked him for all he was worth, after the Tzyu fight he already had a lot of miles on the clock before the big fights in America.
Catch 22 in my opinion, if he had of gone to America sooner he may never have reached the heights he did.
Re: Fighters who got OLD FAST for their age
Zelenoff only had 1 fight and he's going bald at 22.
Re: Fighters who got OLD FAST for their age
Lloyd Honeyghan!
Had a very short prime. Was never the same after 1st Vaca fight.

Didn't Diaz retire not so long ago to attend Law school?
It's a shame, he was always fun to watch.

I almost said Danny Romero as well. I remember hearing he had beaten Johnny Tapia, then after that I watched him and all he did was lose.

Current trainer Robert Garcia. They dont call him the Grandpa for nothing. lol
Re: Fighters who got OLD FAST for their age
Jeff Lacy.
In the fights prior to his fight with Calzaghe he looked devestating but after the calzaghe fight he looked totaly shot!

More like destroyed mentally after the JC loss rather than grew old. That was a tough fight for him no doubt but his career was in the early stages and there were not a lot of miles on the clock.
I think he was rushed a little bit too much to be honest, he probably feels the same with hindsight, hype is not always good for your health.

No he didn't actually.
He struggled with Omar Sheika and i'm sure he also struggled with Syd Vanderpool. Not exactly world class fighters.
I was guilty of buying into the Lacy hype and because i hadn't seen Calzaghe fight before at the time, i thought he was just another fighter for Lacy to go through, boy was i wrong lol.
I don't think the Calzaghe fight ruined him either. I mean it would of affected him mentally but he was looking pretty decent in his first fight back until the mid point of the fight where he torn his rotator cuff.
He had to sit a year out because of that injury and i think that really ruined him. When he came back, he was never the same.
