So, just noticed he has signed to fight this Tommy guy in Cardiff on February 25, anyone know much about him, carnt say I've seen much of him, will he prove to be a dangerous opponent, or will Cleverly beat his ass down ?

Looking at his record the only fighter of any note he got beat, can see Nathan smashing him up in 4!
I can't see this bum being a threat to Nathan's so called homecoming!!
IMO I wouldn't even class it as a homecoming. It's like me fighting in London then at Brighton for my homecoming, sad.

Quite frankly, this is a piss poor choice for Cleverly's next fight. He should have unified with Shumenov. It's a winnable fight and it does much more him in terms of experience and legacy. I really don't see the point in facing Karrpency. Was it Cleverly's mandatory?Quote:

Cleverley is a good fighter, fit and tough. The problem is that he has almost won his 'world' title too soon as he has not fought anyone good yet, nor been in a huge war, nor had to come back from adversity. he definitely is too easy to hit, and his technique could be better.
His promoters donlt know hoe good he really is, so they don't want to put him in too high as he will be damaged goods if he loses his 'world' title. Too much, too early for nathan.
Can't blame the guy for going for the title when he did, but he would have been a more complete fighter if he had spent a bit longer learning the trade and - dare I say it - losing the undefeated record that ends up being a millstone around people's necks.
Looking at his height and shoulders, I cant see him staying at the weight long.
Never heard of the guy before but looking at his record Cleverly should have him.
Cleverly needs to learn to stop using his face as a defence tool and keep hoping his youth and superior conditioning will get him through fights. Even at this stage Hopkins' would school him, and Nathan is not ready for Chad Dawson, so let him learn the game and develop his skills.
I was hoping Andrzej Fonfara would get a crack at Nathan...
