peterson has lettered the WBA
asking them to discard the amir khan re-match they ordered.
very intersting indeed as whether the WBA say yes or no its wide open to what each fighter does next....
IF the WBA say no to the rematch the you will probably see peterson take on pacquaio or more likely bradley.....khan will probably move up in weight
IF the WBA say yes to the rematch then peterson might still say no...so wo does amir fight for the belt....well by all rights it has to be the regular champion...maidana....that means khan moving up to 147lbs then as he has no interest in fighting maidana again.....peterson will probably still fight pacquaio or bradley

That's quite interesting. After the fight Peterson was up for a rematch saying Khan gave him an opportunity and he would do the same back. I think he's changed his mind because of a fight with Pacquiao. If the rematch doesn't happen then Khan definitely moves to 147 in hopes of chasing a fight with Floyd. I think Khan would lose to Ortiz, Berto and Brook at 147 but knowing boxing he won't fight them and will still get a fight with Floyd.

What do you mean knowing Khan he wont fight them. He has taken on Maidana and called out everyone under the sun. You should be complaining about Peterson not wanting to have a rematch with a guy he had a stupidly close fight with in his own town.
That fight needs a rematch. If Peterson does not take this fight and in stead fights a nobody then he is going to look like a coward. If it was the other way round Khan would be put down by everyone for not giving a rematch. You would never hear the end of it.
Re: peterson has lettered the WBA
I don't understand Peterson. Just take the rematch like a man. The first fight was close and fun, give the fans something to get excited about. And if he can do it again then his stock rises more. Not wanting the fight is gay like Khan's fag response to losing to Prescott.
Re: peterson has lettered the WBA
i think the peterson camp are just so fed up with khans antics that they are will only fight khan as a last resort..basically to make him sweat a bit.
peterson hs other options , pacquaio has announced that he will fight on june 9th , if its peterson that get the call he will make $2-3m...more than the khan fight
Re: peterson has lettered the WBA
Right after Khan pulls his appeal? Hmmmm.... I wonder if he's been paid step aside money so that Khan can fight floyd instead of pac?
Re: peterson has lettered the WBA
Peterson and his team are being a cock, where is the pride in their performance and record. Trying to be fight fodder for Pac Man is just ridiculous.

There's a difference between calling them out and then actually fighting them. The reason I said knowing Khan he wont fight them is because the man has made it quite clear him self that he's more willing to fight guys on their way down. Like he said after the Barerra fight that you have to catch the legends on their way down and beat them. About Floyd he's been saying I want to fight him after his sentence because he will be weaker and more beatable. These are Khans own words. Freddie Roach is smart he knows who Khan can beat and who he can't so he's been carefully matched and there's no way they take a 2nd fight with Maidana or fight prime live fighters like Ortiz, Berto and the rest.

Unbelievable given your simultaneous comments in the Calzaghe/Hopkins thread.
But I do agree that Khan deserves a rematch (and would favor him in it), despite his detestable whining .

What about trying to fight Bradley the best in that devision. Khan got avoided by him. If Khan goes up I could deffinately see him trying to fight Berto and Ortiz. I would give him a good chance against them as well. Everyone was putting Peterson down before the fight but he has only ever lost to Bradley and drew with Ortiz a guy who Khan apparently would not dare to fight. Who in this devision do you think Khan should fight next. Because it looks like two of the belt holders Peterson and Bradley do not want to fight him. The only other two worth while options are Maidana again and Devon Alexander. I think you will find that he is going to want a belt.

I'm not questioning his heart, I just don't like the comments he makes about fighting guys when they aren't at their best. I still think he will get a fight with Floyd without actually earning it by fighting to get to the top of the division. Boxing is more about money than anything else.
Re: peterson has lettered the WBA
Peterson probably doesn't want the rematch because of how much Amir's been pissing and moaning.
Besides. It's nice to give Khan a piece of his own medicine. Khan never rematched Prescott or Maidana. And now Peterson won't rematch him.
Sucks, doesn't it, Amir?

I dont want to see him fight Floyd yet. He is not ready. I just want to see the best in the devision fight each other. There are too many bullsh*t fights that dont need to happen.
I am looking foward to Maidana vs Alexander. But what will Peterson or Bradley do next. Will they fight each other and unify the devision or take easy fights against nobodies.
Who will khan fight next. It looks like he has no choice but to move up if those two dont fight him. Unless he fight the winner of Maidana vs Alexander.

The reason I see, plain and simple, that Peterson is backing off from giving Khan a rematch is because of all the WHINING Khan has done since and Khan even gone so far as trying to get the decision reversed, turning Peterson's win into a loss. Heck yeah I would leave that idiot in my rear view mirror after all this. Good riddance to Khan.
