Donaire-Nishioka & Rios-Alvarado MY weigh in pics & videos (Also RJJ)

Just got back from the weigh in pretty big crowd that came out.

I was surprised by the amount of Asian media and fans that actually made it out.
A lot of Japanese media there for Nishioka even had their own booth set up.

Also the Philipine media and fans always very supportive of their fighters.

Managed to get a few shots using my phone.

I noticed Nishioka started drinking some sort of tea right after the weigh in as well as pedialyte (electrolyte drink). Nonito looked to be drinking lots of water right away.
Both guys looked good and ready to go.

I have to be honest here both Alvarado & Rios looked a bit drained.
I should point out that when Rios stepped on the scale I'm gonna say he literally stepped on it for like 2 seconds and immidiately got off. I was surprised that no one in Alvarados side said anything I mean if you blinked you missed it.

But someone doesn't really fit in the group.
I get a better look and it's Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez.

This is Toshiaki Nishioka and me after the weigh in. His translator wasn't around but I wanted to ask him how he feels about his fights vs. Veeraphol and since he is retired he won't be able to try and avenge his only loses.

Great shots my historian friend. The one they put on BS made Donaire looked flabby. Your shots beg to differ.

Far from it, he looked in outstanding shape.

Nishioka is chiseled as well.

I have to agree I have no idea how either one does it...

I mean I'm guessing here but I think both guys walk around 170 or so average... How they get down to 140 is nuts.

I just finished my second beer and felt the need to add an ed:rolleyes:

I'm taking Nishioka in this one. Arum has wasted Donaire. This guy should be fighting every six months.

Pinoy crowd was nuts and came out full on to support.
A friend told me that fellow Pinoy-American actor Rob Schnider was seen there with Nonito, thought that was cool.

I tried to get a hold of Nonito but the major media outlets wouldn't let go of him. :/
Maybe next time I'll have better luck.

I don't like that Cali uses those digital scales, for that very reason that they can quickly jump off. With the old beam scales, they are forced to stand there until they get the proper weight.

Didn't think about the scale and you bring up a very good point on that...
I'm serious he got on and off in like 2 seconds and quickly put on his shorts.

I was too lazy to put on my contacts so I just left my glasses on ;)
Since the cold season is kicking in I'm letting my beard grow out a la "Perro" Angulo ;D
