BBC Sport - Freddie Roach would 'love' to coach champ Nathan Cleverly
Speaks quite highly of his potential and says he would 'love' to coach him.
Personally a couple of years ago I had high hopes for him but he seems to have stalled or even regressed. His defence seems to be getting worse and it would be difficult to blame that on improved opponents as there hasn't really been any. I still think he could be a solid 'world' champ though.
Roach rates, him Nathan is a good fighter I rated him as a amateur, he was head and shoulders above,
any one I had seen. Thing is he need to make his mark, I hope he does.:)
Sounds like Freddie hasn't seen him fight. "Passive defence?"
Anyone could have looked at his record and described him as a non-puncher that needs a big fight to become a star. (;D)

I've always liked Cleverly and I enjoy watching him box but we do need to see him take a step up in competition. I would like to see a Pascal fight or Cloud but it don't see either of those guy's taking that fight right now.
2013 will be cleverley's year. He has the goods. Roach knows it.
Nathan Cleverly is a very good fighter, people do not see it but I do. He is still young and a bit raw at times but his work rate is up there with prime Galzaghe and he just needs to refine his boxing skills to be a real world champion.

There are some good fights out there, for Cleverly I hope they can be made we will have to wait

I'd like to see him fight Cloud. I think that's a good fight for him next but apparently Oscar is trying to make Cleverly-Hopkins in Wales.
