I just saw a breaking news clip that you now have a new prince. Congrats. I've never understood the fascination with English Royalty (being a Yank) but I do know that it's quite a big deal. There are many things about Americans that people don't quite get! Who knows, maybe he'll grow up to be welterweight champ.
I really really think the coverage is ridiculous. So do most British people. I really care very little.
As with most things royal it is more the media inventing the interest rather than reporting the interest.

I totally disagree, I have served the queen for 10 years and plan to see out my career in my chosen profession. The royal family do a lot for this country without shouting about it. It's the horrible journalists who like to spread shit!
What other country sends their third in line (now fourth I believe) to war and still he carries this out with dignity and honour.

If you don't care for it then ignore it, but to speak with such disdain actually is giving it the very attention that you say you despise.
