martin murrays world title fight in feb
Whos martin murray fighting in feb for a world title anyone have any ideas?
Re: martin murrays world title fight in feb
My first thought was "it must be Quillin" but I've heard Golovkin will be elevated to 'Super' Champion and Martin will be fighting somebody for the WBA Regular Title. No idea who yet.

You say that but Martin is WBA Interim Champion and Golovkin is WBA Champion. If you move Golovkin to Super Champion, Martin can fight for the Regular title and then that frees up the interim title for 2 others guys to fight for.
Nothing says clarity like 3 WBA Champions in 1 weightclass and if we look at it, deep down isn't that what we want in every division?

yeah course it is
usually tho im a bit sketchy on who is next in line for the interim title so there should really be 2 interim elimination champions, elimination champion A and elimination champion B, so the elimination champion A is decided first and then the elimination champion B and if something happens to the elminiation champion A then the Eliminatiom champion B becomes the elmination champion and then a couple of other guys fight for the elmination championship B
now if the elmination champion gets the chance to fight for the interim belt or the interim champ gets to fight for the real belt then that frees up the belts below and other world champion ship interim and elimination A and B fights are required
then if there is a fight for the normal belt all of the interim and elimination champions could be kept on gaurd just in case there is an injury or a pull out, if not then they could fight each other anyway
that would solve a lot of problems dont you think?

Apparently it's Jarrod Fletcher a Billy Joe Saunders KO victim. It's not Murray's fault though, anyone that spends 5 minutes looking at "world" champions can see there's only a small handful of genuine ones out of the 80+. Why would he fight Golovkin when he's been offered the chance to make some dough a much safer way.
The WBA are going to have two middleweight "world" champions on the same bill. It really doesn't get more ridiculous than that. However, fans will still claim belts are important.
Froch, Britain's Two belt holding premier "world" champion, has more clout in the supermiddle division than the guy that wiped the floor with him and is still unbeaten, according to many a fan. Madness.

whats jarrod flethcher?
are you saying GGG is moving to super champ and murray is fighting to be regular champ against fletcher?
Re: martin murrays world title fight in feb
I have no idea "what" Jarrod Fletcher is.
Murray's WBA title shot has been common knowledge for weeks. The fact he would not be facing Golovkin has been common knowledge for weeks too. Sherlock Holmes is not needed in this business

does it?
Re: martin murrays world title fight in feb
So when the WBA wanna hand a title to the next guy do they elevate Murray to super champ and make GGG super dooper champ?
This is gay! Sort it out
Re: martin murrays world title fight in feb
Its actually embaressing. Murray is gonna call himself world champ without ever beating a world class opponent let alone an elite fighter. Im not saying he doesnt deserve a world title, he was hard done by Martinez and Sturm but it must take some of the achievement away from him getting put in there with a nobody.
