What Froch should have said after his 'controversial' (some would say fix) stoppage win over George Groves.
'Well bloody hell that was a tough one, George had me over in round one and I struggled for a few more until I finally got some together in what turned out to be the last round. Fair play to George he was a tough opponent and the referee was a bit harsh to stop it, I was lucky'.
What he did say..............
All the ridiculous he-man shit that has been repeated here ad nauseam.
I had a high opinion of Froch before this fight, but was looking forward to a good competitive fight, and I admit I felt Groves was under rated and could actually do it.
My opinion of Froch is now about zilch, is there no form of sportsmanship alongside the Trent? Brian Clough would be turning in his grave.
Please keep these Froch-Groves threads alive in the hope the yanks get hold of them and offer Groves the big money US matches. Certainly no decent yank is now coming to fight Froch in the UK now they've seen how judges and refs can be so bent, Roy Jones had it right.

So Frochs years of top competition mean "zilch" to you, quite the level headed sports fan you are.
We Yanks did notice, we like Groves style but we give Froch the respect he earned through YEARS of challenges. Before you condemn Frochs next move perhaps he's earned the right to make a move.

Carl got to emotionally invested in that fight and lost his marbles both during and after. That is what makes the domestic British scene the best in the sport. Home rivals seem larger then international ones.
This is unfinished business and its good for the sport.

you have to remember boxers arent trained public speakers or actors either
if you have ever boxed yourself you will know the adrenaline you have after a fight, after a 3 round gym fight id be so hyped that for the next 20 minutes i probably would talk complete nonsense, and at a real event i would probably struggle to talk an hour or two either side of a fight
froch had just sat down after a 9 round war, you cant expect him to say all the right things

Froch is a proper Boss.
No disrespect to Groves in anyway. If like to a rematch but not in no way due to the way Froch conducts himself.

It can be argued that Froch should have given Groves a little more credit to Groves after the fight and quite possibly conceded he underestimated him and was outfought by him!!!
But if it was me against a man who had run his mouth for 3 months on the build up to the fight and had disrespected my career achievements, insulting me at every opportunity....would I ??? Not a fecking chance and neither would the majority of the people shouting that he should, I would wallow in victory with a Rye smile on my face and an Index finger firmly positioned in the air at anyone suggesting I should!

not for one second am i suggesting that froch owe groves anything after the fight, if i was him after the build up id be just as inclined to rub groves face in it
but in terms of his fan base and the way he is now perceived you have to say that he could maybe have said something else :)

I cant disagree with you, he never actually covered himself in glory and could have given a little more in way of credit for the way Groves controlled the fight....but you got to admit Groves is an irritating little tit-head, it would be difficult to give him anything :)

Froch can still be diplomatic and say all those things because they are true. Froch does not have to give Groves a rematch especially if he can get a more lucrative fight else where.

I agree, but he will turn into a Duck in the eyes of many if he doesnt....he has fought all comers during his career, but not taking a rematch will fuel the haters, so I guess he is a no win situation!

Trouble is when your fans turn against you, it can be hard to get that respect back Froch I
feel was shocked by Groves performing above his own level.
Sometimes our hero's just don't come up to, a standard we expect of them in this case maybe
Froch has let himself down, and his fans on his comments.
